You just popped up in my feed and I am enthralled by your stuff ! I am not in your demographic, but I think it’s cool. I remember how important this was when I was a kid. I remember when a comic cost me 12 cents ! Trust me, it wasn’t all that easy for me to get that either. I’m 71 and I still like this channel. 😊
Ugh, I knew I should have backed this KS. Love owning some of the actual comics shown in here, but would love to have this compilation. Agree, he's one my top 5 and was so drawn to his crisp line work.
I grew up enthralled with the art of Boris Vallejo and The Brothers Hildebrandt. Arthur Adams work gives me similar vibes; not necessarily looking the same, but similarly imbued with life.
I backed this as well. I went for the limited edition hardback and it comes with a few of his prints, signed. The cover on it is unusual because it's technically backwards and it's in black and white. Arthur was one of the first comic artists that inspired me to want to become a comic artist. My first comic of his was the Gumby special edition.
Art Adams and John Romita Jr are the best two comic artists of the 90s/early 2000, no question. Two very different styles, but so clean, crisp and fun. In the 90s everyone tried to copy or emulate their feel. No one in comic art will ever get the minute detail mixed with flash that Adams did. Adams made baby X-men, it’s a thing, fun and cool. If you haven’t seen it, check out art Adam’s baby Wolverine,
I purchased the hard and soft cover off of Ebay 2 months ago!!! It's worth it. However, I wish that he would have had a separate chapter devoted to Godzilla and Ultraman Art!!!
One of my favorite artists of that period for sure. Always wanted to see him on LongShot and Spiral and X-Men, but he was so good at anyone. Should have been as big as McFarlane or Liefeld, but perhaps he took time.
Don’t really do kickstarters. I was not aware of this. Why does Flesk need crowdfunding? It’s a good collection of art. At one point, he was my favorite artist. But then his art evolved with the anime like faces, big jawlines and simple lines that I did not like as much. Still a decent artist, but not as good as his Asgardian annual saga and X-Men Classic covers.
@@TheComicLounge I understand the concept of kickstarter, but Mr Adams is a beloved top tier comic artist for over 30 years? Even for an expensive project, he has a built in fanbase to ensure a big demand of his product. There isn't much risk of this not selling without crowdfunding. As for the bonus content, you are paying for them. The basic tier is just the book. It is the only higher tiers funder that get extra stuff, I am guessing. But thank you for the video and explantion.
loved it on marvel universe series 2 cards it was so different! then after i saw more art over the years his was more meh to me and i wasn't a fan anymore, but glad he exists and inspired so many !
