The art of being kind.
About TEDx, x=independently organize event
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-
organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep
discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized
events are branded TEDx, where x=independently organized TED event.
The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but
individual TEDx events are self-organized.*

I have been through a phase in my life (most of it to be honest) when I was so nice and good to others that people kind of used me. I honestly didn't like that at all. Of course I am nice now but not so much. When I have something to say, I do. So I think respect and happiness have to go together

“Be wise as serpents but harmless as doves.” - Bible. Being kind does not necessarily mean being naive. Keep doing good and keep your wits about you too.

It needs to be a healthy balance of give and take. Dr Adam Grant has an excellent book called "Give and Take", in which he argues most successful people actually give more than they take (called Givers), and outlines a strategy of how to not be taken advantage of by what he calls "Takers". In my opinion, befriending more people whom you instinctively know are Givers, should make your life easier and happier.

Stefan, I would like to correspond regarding Częstochowa and Hassag. My mother and grandmother were there.

The last person I was kind to looked quite ordinary. The last person who was kind to me could not have been motivated by my semblance to Denzel Washington either, because there’s none. Kindness often arises from perceived need and the ability to extend assistance. As simple as that.
