For my birthday I went all out and spent around 500 setting myself up to do poly gel, acrylic, lazy girl method ect. The videos make it seem so easy. Poly gel was a disaster for my sister an I an we got some great laughs watching the nails go flying across the room. Her poly gel set was horrible. I forgot an made them thick as hell. So tonight I think I started mastering the acrylic nails. They come very nice. I thank each an every of you ladies sharing your tips and secrets with us beginners.
It's all fun and games until nails go flying lol We believe in you both! Here is a great acrylic series for you: ru-vid.com/group/PLbrhuNO154v1zxrGqrDoisR9B_JlDs8C1
you are, hands down, my favorite instructor, I just love listening to you. You are just so matter of fact, calm, casual, that its like sitting with a good friend and having them show you how they do their nails. It’s a soothing pleasure to watch your videos! I am a nail tech myself, and I still find I learn something new watching you. Thank you for such excellent videos. Young nails products, in my opinion at least, are the best on the market. I have tried I think every major brand, many boutique brands, but am never, ever as satisfied with the results as I am when I use Young Nails. The durability of the nails? Superb
I am going to be a licensed nail tech soon! And I decided to make Young Nails my main company. Although I use colors from others and play around with different companies. I use everything YN’s for prep, forms, and core colors!! I have all your mylars, a lot of your glitters, and your magic wand is the absolute best. I have three rose gold wands just because 😉
Oh! As a future nail tech, could you answer a question about the mylars? 😉 It's hard to tell the "consistency"? of them from the videos. Are they soft and super pliable like gold leaf/foil or are they more hard/sturdy like little pieces of plastic? I'm trying to practice building dimension in my nails but haven't bought any mylars yet so I'm curious. I've seen some online that look both and don't know which is best for dimension like Melissa does.
@@quirkyviper sure, so they are hard(er) definitely comparing them to foils and really soft things like that. But what I do and most others also is take scissors and cut them down into smaller pieces. It’s easy to, it’s not like glass where it would be super hard to cut. I have quite a few of the mylars. I would suggest getting some. They are absolutely beautifully in a dimensional nail. Also if you are encapsulating it don’t worry if small pieces are sticking up, when you go to e-file it. It will shape beautifully.
This is totally irrelevant but loved King Sis in the background today! Melissa's nails are gorgeous as always and makes it feel like I could really do it myself if I could get the courage to pick up an acrylic brush.
You’ve really inspired me with all these custom mixing videos, yesterday while I was doing my own nails I custom mixed 2 different colors and absolutely loved them. Now I’m addicted lol
Im new to nails so Im trying to master hard gel before moving on to acrylic but you guys make it so hard to wait :D Everything always looks so fun and pretty!
I'm in love with the nails on her actual hands. What products are involved to recreate them? Gel or acrylic? Tips or free forms? And what color/product as far as the color? I've been experimenting with shapes lately. I've been a mid length square for a while but recently have been trying a bit longer of a tapered square/coffin. I usually don't prefer a stiletto or pointy like shape but God her nails are gonna keep me up at night. 😍😍😍
Unfortunately the glitter on her hand is no longer available. Our glitter numero into is similar. They are hard gel extensions with forms. Our concealer pink synergy gel encapsulating the glitter.
Hi, I’ve been doing nails 29 years. Love it. Still mostly do traditional acrylic. Sometimes my clients like to stick with their favorite color for awhile so sometimes when I have capped with clear when I go to do a fill and then file at the end I might see some marbling between the color and clear. Like the color looks a little bit different near the cuticle where you have more color less clear because of thinness versus the middle or end that has more clear from capping. Does that make sense? Happens more on the fill rather than first time with the color. Love Young nails channel!
Melissa, First of all, you are incredibly talented! Thank you for sharing your skills not only as a technician and an artist, but also as a teacher. My question is tool related. Where can I get the tiny spatula you use to mix your glitters into your gels/liquid arts/acrylics?
Really enjoyed the video. Do you have to use hard gel to make mixes when using pigments such as mica? Or can you mix your own colors with top or base coat? If so, which would be best - top or base coat? Thanks.
Why do you roll the jar to mix the color instead of shaking it to mix it? Also, what’s the greatest thing about the YN practice hand vs other brand practice hands?
Thank you for you videos! I have learned SO MUCH... I have a problem with girls that want short nails or acrylic over their own short nails. I have solved lifting at cuticles but the end corners (especially for the thumb) lifts and breaks off🙄 have you done any videos in these? or could you please show us?🙏🏼😊
@@MrHeroes800 I am pretty sure she has used piece piece in a few videos. I can't say for sure this was previously uploaded, it seems familiar. I remember seeing Melissa's sweater, it's cute 🥰👍
