I knew people who would take apart old windows and such to then make lamps with the old glass. To really reproduce, especially the lamps with metal work, you need original real glass and be an expert in making the metal work such as the frame for the wisteria, grapevine, and cherry blossom. To make proper dragonfly's you need real jewels and proper etched wings. I used to make my own jewels and I had the equipment to make the wings and most of the caps. The pigtail cap must be hand engraved and etched from one side only. You cannot spin that pattern with it pre etched. I have spent a lot of time trying. Another hard part to make are the lily fitters. I could make them that work but not proper. That takes expensive tooling. Buffalo Studios used to make the best replacement fitter. Are there any more top of the line opalescent mottle glass and drapery glass makers left?

saw a crime documentary about tiffany windows being stolen from a Jewish cemetery. one of the windows ended up in a Japanese museum. the guy claimed it was preservation as these windows were being vandalised and left to the elements. they would go in of a night tooled up and leave with the morning rush hour

Veo que Tiffany no se complicaba con diseños rebuscados , eran cientos de piezas en algunos diseños , pero veo las terminaciones por el reverso y son muy feas pero supongo que lo que importaba era el resultado final y mirado desde fuera , también veo el refuerzo por dentro para que no se desarmara de la nada ,imitaba también un mantel bordado en casi todos los diseños florales y los sombreros de las señoras de los años 20 al 30, no es llegar y cortar vidrio ,por que luego vienen una árdua tarea para que la spiezas coincidan y puedan ser soldadas, es un trabajo hermoso y de muchas horas hombre, gracias
