I LOVE your videos! Such high quality content and excellent critiques! I have a suggestion for a video- You should do a video on Barbra Streisand. More specifically her 1994 concert tour. It was her first time singing live in 25 years and the whole tour sold out in just a few minutes. The phone systems crashed because so many people were calling to get tickets. It was truly a time when Barbra captured lightening in a bottle. Again, thanks for the great content!

She hasn’t peaked. Her career has evolved. Obviously you have to transition from a pop star in your youth unless you want to end up like Madonna. Gaga has won acclaim in her film roles and she’s moving along just fine. It doesn’t make sense for her to record more pop music at this point. She’s made her mark and that’s that.
@manoah007
@manoah007 2 года назад
A lot of little monsters including me do not want to admit it but Gaga peaked in 2012. She's still huge, immensely successful, selling out stadiums and is still one of the most respected artists in the industry but her pop music might is sadly gone. She seems to notice this too, her music career is taking a back burner now. Chromatica is a huge welcome back to the Gaga that fans love so much, the setlist on the ball also highlights her peak days. I hope another album brings her back to the top spot in pop music.

@@thegmanpaints you’re right she does have a staying power but not through pop music. Her acting roles cement her to new heights but I believe 20 years should be a testament, I love her but 20 years less does not make an icon.

artpop amazes me bc it's simultaneously nostalgic and futuristic. nobody in pop was as experimental and forward-sounding as she was on that album, and yet it was also a love letter to and a last hurrah of the self-reverent Pop Icon era. honestly, i think people were just not ready for that kind of sound yet. gorillaz did a similar pop-electro-hiphop-experimental album in 2017 and it was a massive commercial success. i'm not saying gaga is better than gorillaz, but i definitely think she was ahead of the curve ❤
@laurenm4873
@laurenm4873 7 месяцев назад
@@WerewolfCat890 I fully agree! It’s on a whole mother level of artistry and it’s this blend of classical and contemporary art, and she managed to honor that while also not taking it too seriously. It’s still so fun and so Gaga. Waaay ahead of its time, if it came out now it would be regarded differently I think. Regardless, I’m in love with it.

Way back in Jr high, my friend showed me a song - & it was a bop! Then the lyric "I wanna take a ride on your disco stick" hit. First I thought who in the world writes such sexual+comedic lyric? My very next thought was: how on earth did my friend find such a weird and obscure artist/song? - is my friend secretly Hella Horny and this is sexed up niche genre that he actively seeks out? Of course by the end of the night I'd fallen in love with Lady gaga as an artist too! But for a brief period I did question how well I REALLY I knew my friend. So, like you said, her lyrics in that first album were fantastically absurd to grab attention, which luckily she actually had the songwriting & musical chops (+ her compassionate outspoken advocacy) to keep you realed in once she had your attention. Same could be said about her early Fashion, she knew how to get the world's attention. PS. I actually dressed up as "dead" lady gaga for halloween the very year that my friend first played her for me 👩🏼‍🎤

I don't think she'll ever be just 'another name'. Thats just silly, and in the past tense. Just recently her Chromatica Ball Tour was a great success. She’ll always be making music, being creative on screen, whatever she does, It’s who she is. She’s a living icon. And when she passes away, that’s how she’ll be remembered, and celebrated.

She's not done yet: she became a successful actress, Madonna never could due to her arrogance, she did some pop numbers and, for now, let's wait for what she can invent. Actually, it seems to me that she does better than Beyonce, without the adoring and unconditional trust support of the black community. Go on Gagging us, GaGa
@uguryldrm9060
@uguryldrm9060 Год назад
The time has changed, the conditions has changed. Madonna was the greatest pop star. Gaga is the last. In today's conditions, I don't think we will ever see Gaga (2008-2013) like pop icon. The very concept of pop star is dead now. Madonna was first, Britney was second Gaga was the last. After 2013, we have only moments of pop music (Miley's Bangerz era, Ariana thank u next era etc.) but we can't find a proper pop star. I think you are confused about one thing: success doesn't mean a great pop star. Gaga is still successful, Taylor is even more successful but their impact is not like that of Gaga in 2008-2013 or Madonna of 1985-1998 or Britney of 1999-2007. Pop star in that sense is actually not a choice of fans, Taylor has a huge fan base but in 1989, everyone in the world know who is Madonna. It is not a choice. Even if you don't like her, you are EXPOSED to Madonna. That type of domination is gone. Now, there is diversity, there are more pop singers, there are more genres. Simply, what Madonna symbolizes is divided into Ariana, Taylor, Dua etc.

NO ONE will repeat what LG did in the first 3 years of her rise to STARDOM and in the last 15 years to culture in general, as she had the greatest impact on everything, including fashion today, artists today, songs many try to write like her today (or, if not, then they write mostly shit), have concept, and dance while singing, etc. And I can't believe what a nonsense I hear in parts from this man!!! Sampled Madonna? Born This Way was inspired by the church singer Carl Bean. We were all foking inspired during Born This Way Era, no one knew Express Yourself because it didn't have a story or concept behind it and was just another stupid MDNA song, unlike BTW where it was the movement of all the people to make this world kinder and better place - it had us SCREAMING "We can do it if she did!". (Have you seen Gaga perform Born This Way? Every time that was a BLAST!!! Express Yourself anyone?..) Secondly, are you being serious saying no one knew Million Reasons when performed on Super Bowl? The song went N1 in many countries, hater. I think Gaga's Super Bowl was the best of them all. And I can judge due to my musical roots and understanding. It was meticulously made by Genius to us, mortals.
