I really like your collection of customs. Watching your videos over the past 3 years inspired many of my S gauge and 3/16's projects. Thank you for showing these.
Nice collection. I like collecting the 3/16 scale cars also. The Rock Island caboose and Santa Fe box car are really nice and are making me jealous. The auto rack car is pretty clever. Johny lighting and M2 make some really nice 40, 50, 60, and 70's cars in 1/64 scale. I recently bought a Johnny Lightning Sunoco 55 Chevy Nomad with Sunoco trailer that's really nice. I always thought a SantaFe wedge tender was needed also. I use those same power pickups along with the E7 head light brackets to put headlights in the E7 dummies.
I will have to watch again, but did not catch if you produced this array of conversions or if you have assembled conversions by other operators. Since the conversion style varies, I suspect they are some of each, by you and others. They look great. I have a collection of mostly Lionel and some AF prewar conversions. I did a video on these, if you get a chance to watch. I really like your 3/16" auto loader! Your plastic 504 BO caboose is a regular production item, but sounds like yours was originally 4 wheel. Nice collection. Watching further you answered my question. I tried to add a link, but it would not save. I did the video August 2022, called Lionel Trains that should have been made.
Dave you should get a rubber stamp made for the ladder detail! Just a thought! Excellent rolling stock! I have a New York central Caboose with light , never seen another till today! TU
Like this one a lot Dave. You should do a detail how to on the narrowing of the wedge tender. My question you didn’t address was the frame.. didn’t that also need adjusting?
……the belt sander to remove approximately 3/32″ from each side. With a little filling and the removal of the back metal step, the two metal tabs slid smoothly into the plastic slots in the shell. Even the front screw lined up. The base required a coat of Krylon satin black to cover up the bare metal edges from the sanding.
