How can one guy be this good and have such an understanding of electronic music/production AND also complete a PhD in neuroscience?! How are some people so productive at such a high level?!
Neural signal processing involves a lot of the same concepts as sound synthesis. Basically electrophysiology, analyzing the number and the frequency of spikes in neurons and what not is the same as analyzing sound. So the two fields certainly overlap
@@naishkiteboarder That's exactly what I do. I'm doing a Ph.D. in Neuroscience and producing electronic music. I often record brain signals from rats and men, and I send them into synths and DAWs. The results are stunning! The brain is probably the most powerful synth
Max Cooper is another one of these wizards with a quality degree and a deep understanding of electronic music. A high level ability to think translates well into different fields simultaneously.
Not really sure it's relevant considering many of electronic music's most innovative pioneers didn't have degrees, or considering that Max Cooper isn't really that exciting (his visuals are what set him apart, his music isn't particularly deep)
This dude is awesome. I think he did a good job of explaining how it works at a base level while still being able to add in some more complex concepts.
Silhouettes I, II, & III changed my whole life dude. You are up there with Tame Impala with your ability to make me trip sober. Unreal work and production. Inspirational, we need more.
People who say electronic music producers are just a bunch of knob twiddlers need to see this. Knowing how this stuff works must be like learning an instrument in its own right.
That was sick! I've always loved buchla since I was a kid and this was very enjoyable to watch. Electronic music is so cool. Utilizing all the tools you have to create ur own sound is so very unique. Rock and roll of the future💀
yes. I Know. Do you know how much awesome gear you can get for 4 Grand? For example, that's an Octatrack, Analog Four, A Rytm, Digitakt and Digitone..(well, actually I've seen the 296e sell for $2200 used)...
