Presented by Jemilah Hallinan, EDO Advocacy is key to NSW meeting the 30x30 goal. To achieve this momentous task, we need to train up an army of citizens who are skilled at writing Protected Area-related submissions and proposals. For example, you may have a proposal in mind to transition an area of crown land into the National Reserve System. Or, you may wish to contribute to a submission to the government's soon-to-be-announced Stage 2 of the consultation period on the regulations for five of NSW's mainland marine parks. Presently, less than 7% of our coastline is protected as full no-take marine sanctuary - so NSW has a long way to go in terms of reaching the 30% sanctuary target by 2030 for the ocean. The more unique, well crafted submissions the government receives on this issue in favour of the 30x30 target, the greater chance we have as a community of convincing the government to meet this target.
This webinar is broken up into the two sections - part 1, proposal writing, followed by part 2 submission writing. It will share the key ingredients required for successful proposal and submission writing.
