My eyes were destined to feast on Marathons visuals. I wish i could cybernetically enhance my eyeballs to see everything through the lense that is this style. The bold colors and sleek industrial architecture mixed with nature and biology is candy to my eyes.
It's always been my fav artistic style, it's like mirrors edge but even further Sci fi, which I think both are great but marathon I'd just a genuine new world to see, it's spectacular as an artists I've always loved Sci fi graphic design and I gave never seen a game go this far into visual design it's so cool😄
Honestly this feels like a hell of an evolution for the original trilogies cyberpunk world. Where in the original, the Battleroids were hungry war machines, crafted by a a system at war, now they are commercialized by the mega corps. So dystopian. I live for this shit
10 seconds in and this is already better editing quality then 99% of youtube channels out there. Insanity how good you are at emulating a style that feels so much like marathon from what we've seen. Keep it up man!

Marathon's style is incredible, but nothing especially new. The style existed for some time in graphic design and concept art sphere. But this is probably one of the first games that actually adopted this style. This shows how you can both accept the risk and also adopt something that has proven itself in other places
Just got done from binging all your videos, and you best describe my excitement for it especially when you referenced the art and aesthetic I have also noticed from other games (WipEout,Mirrors Edge,Rez)
I have 2000 hours on the cycle, the reason this game is already super interesting to me is because to me it’s similar and i agree that the cycle paved the way for these new extraction shooters. The asthetic is dope and very vibrant. It reminds me of Avatar Not the anime but the blue alien world of pandora. It’s so interesting and pretty. I also love pvp so this game is just gonna be great. I love it and its lore. I recently played steam free Marathoj trilogy the old one and it’s fire
Hell yeah, i definitely get what you mean about Avatar, the world seems so mysterious yet beautiful. I really enjoyed the cycle when playing it, however that game had no where near the depth of lore and thought out game direction as Marathon. Which only makes me more excited as they have countless games to learn from and improve Marathon!
I’ve seen so many people complain about the art style not looking like marathon. And while I do agree it doesn’t look much like marathon 1 and infinity it most definitely doesn’t look a lot like marathon 2. That game had a lot of vibrant colors and this new marathon seems like the next step of that visual style.
You're basically Destiny Updates 2.0, I loved that channel. I played all the original marathon games and honestly I'm very skeptical. It's not that I dislike the new art direction, It's that I know I'm going to like the game, and games I like don't perform well lol. This game may fail on a expectation front, but I bet every other game will incorporate it's elements into theirs, like Apex Legends for instance. So while it may not do well, It will live on in other ways, like how many shooters adopted mirrors edges movement mechanics over-time. And you know what.. I'm okay with that. I'm looking forward to the game.
@synthdream Well said, for me Marathon stands so much higher than majority of other extraction shooters (and most games in general) because of the lore being so rich and developed, with people still discussing it 30 years later. I've never seen this sort of thing before, which excites me a lot. I hope it does go well. If anything, I'm 100% sure every streamer and youtuber will be playing at launch!
You have the perfect video essay voice, I'm kinda envious. Also, love that the videos are short and digestible. Keep up the good work. I can't get enough of Marathon's aesthetic and I hope deep customization is a huge part of the game.
The visuals of this game are gorgeous. But I still can't get over the fact it's a damn extraction shooter. Any lore will be entirely supplemental at best. Granted, I'm a fan of PvE games... I feel like giving this game such a unique artstyle and then developing it as an extraction shooter of all things did indeed put me off to the concept.
@@bonnuuoq I was already not very interested in an extraction shooter, but considering the latest leaks point towards them pivoting to some kind of hero shooter (weather or not ist also still an extraction shooter I don’t know) I am out, I have no interest in another hero shooter. I find them pretty boring and not very engaging. Hell concord is the newest hero shooter made by ex bungie devs and that seems to be dead on arrival

I have absolutely zero faith in this game as a thing that's gonna be remotely enjoyable to play... But this art direction had better win some fucking awards. They've got something incredibly special on their hands.
I REALLY hope Marathon doesn't suck. The trailer is AMAZING, I was HYPED for the game. Except... Last i heard it got changed so someone else was running the whole project, and the game had been changed to another hero shooter; is that true?
@PyroNite36 Joe zeigler is now the game director with Christopher barret, becoming executive creative director, An IGN article stated that the game is moving towards a hero shooter. but that is only a rumour. Nothing else has been said. literally just that. I'm also super hyped for this game, can't wait!

I prefer the 90's aesthetic. This looks like Jackson Pollock took some extacy, ate a very colourful cake, drank a bottle of bourbon and this is what he vomited onto the canvas.
@@bonnuuoq to each their own m8. IF they add a fleshed out narrative driven campaign (like..... Marathon. I still have the box set and have Aleph one on my phone for the trilogy) then they have my attention. Others like extraction shooters but not my thing. To me that's not Marathon. But I get it. I'm 42 I'm not the target audience.
