I mean the OSTs have a deep, dystopian vibe than a cyberpunk-ish kick-in,which fits for the Ascent's lore and atmosphere. Lightly uprising, motivating, yet deep down, you know how sick and fucked up world the character lives in and you must keep rising before others "top dog" you to use your body and your creds up.
@@JaySamurai79 I feel you man. It only gets worse the more you make progress in the main story. Getting to the top of the Arcology, after literally climbing all the way from the bottom... Is just... Jesus Christ.
Escalated Danger is my shit! Can't stop listening to it! I really hope they expand on this game, it deserves to be fleshed out even more in DLC and sequels. They have a really nice foundation here.
After playing through the game for a few times I still come back to this when I am grinding XP in some MMOs or the like. The levels fly by faster with this.
holy fuck this game is so fucking good, the amount of detail for an indie game is nuts, the world the music my cyberpunk itch has been sated for a while thats for sure
This game NEEDS DLC. I would love any reason to come back. Add literally anything that I haven’t seen before and I’ll not only play it again, I’ll buy it!! I would be happy to pay $30 for this game. I’ve paid double that for less before.
The fact that you’re even comparing the two speaks volumes for the ascent. This game was made by 1/30 the amount of people and 1/210 the amount of money. Just 12 dudes(with collectively more than a century in the industry) and $138,000.00. Neon giant is the indie to watch 100%.
@@Technicallyaddicted Cyberpunk was made by inexperienced amateurs with more money. The Ascent was made by experienced talented developers. Thats why The Ascent is way better than Cyberpunk 2077. Cyberpunk 2077 is trash and most people hate Cyberpunk 2077
@@godfrey4461 Ascent is a masterpiece. The effects, the visuals, the combat, the handling of your equipment, the variety of enemies, weapons and bosses and the fact that you can coop, pure amazement.
Do somebody knows what are the tracks that plays during surviving (timer based ) battles and the last door opening (by Noghead) or in very 1st fight at the entrance of Menshen facility? they aren t in the soundtrack just like the taxi ride theme- but I got the title of that one.
I just wish there was more of a challenge after lvl 30. Dealbreaker and chump laser makes the game too easy. The end boss fight is underwhelming too. I need more enemies that don’t fold like tissue paper when I’m unleashing my uni-beam every 15 seconds… also minigun that shoots shotgun shells…
@@elgringofeo9348 this one was “really tight” tho. There’s basically only one way to break it and it requires you get the skill points right the first time. Forget what the gun is called, but it’s sitting in the back of a truck. You can survive the onslaught at as little as lvl7 but you have to have max evasion and there isn’t enough money in the game this far to reset your perks. Whereas “ffX” is the most broken rpg I’ve ever played. I was so brutally overpowered by Luca that I had difficulty NOT killing the chocobo eater. I was able to kill sin round 1 without him ever getting his death beam and I have yet to see a lvl4 sphere in that game. It’s a hobby of mine to break the numbers. It has never been more difficult than “the ascent” and never easier than “ffX” the unfortunate side of this is that ffX was a blast after breaking it, mainly dude to insane difficulty curves, but the ascent has such a linear progression that if I ever play again the “uni-beam” is banned. Get uni-beam, lvl uni-beam to max ASAP, lvl body battery to max ASAP, Merc MFers. This will guarantee you a zero death play through on any difficulty. Having a uni-beam that can recycle in about 12s and you have enough body battery to unleash that more than 30 times… there really isn’t an enemy in the game that can stand against that. Endgame “super-bosses” would be a welcome addition… or even a boss rush.
