Chris Sagasu is to the Nike Pegasus as Andrew Midlife is to the ASICS Novablast. Which Novablast has the best upper, midsole and outsole? As always, at the end of the video, I pick a winner.
This video is a #runningshoes review: A 100 mile review of the ASICS Novablast 4 and I talk about it by comparing it to the three predecessors. Should I have done a 100 mile review of the ASICS Novablast 4 first and then a shoe battle? Probably. But I didn't, so here we are.

Novablast 1 was king for all the reasons you mentioned. Revolutionary for its' time, and seems to have redirected the way the entire running shoe industry creates fun and bouncy midsole foams! (I also agree that the 10mm drop was perfect for that shoe)

Asics V1 was a game changer. The rest never appealed to me. Going to try the Superblast and see how I get on with them.

I stocked up on the 3. Haven’t tried the 4 just because mostly everyone says it’s not exciting or has lost its bounce. I do believe they probably toned down the Novablast so they can get you to buy the Superblast.

Yes, I did the same thing. I love my 3’s. Both bouncy and cushy at the same time. My legs always feel fresh the next day after running in my 3’s. I also stocked up because I got a pretty good deal on them.

For me also NB3 better than 4, 3 have more bounce and more fun

The 4 is less bouncy fun than the 3 but the 3 died too fast to me...I can't kill the 4. I'm at 230 miles and they show the wear but they are still not making my knees and hips hurt. The 3 would in 2 pairs before 100...but I'm a touch on the heavy side

@@coreyadcock I’m at 220 miles on my pair is 3’s and they still feel great to me; however, I am a medium to light build. Also, I only run in my 3’s once or twice a week to allow for the foam to return to form.

Had 2 pair of the NB1, 1 pair of NB 2, and 3 pair of the NB3. NB1 was wild and on the verge of out of control and I LOVED IT. Then the cops showed up and the party was over…😢

I’ve been running for 5 months and the Novablast 4 has truly helped my training and form. Now I’m doing intervals and it wasn’t giving me that extra push that I needed. So I bought the Superblast v1 (140$) I got lucky. The Superblast is truly an ultimate super trainer and I’m extremely happy with it. Hills, progression run, 1k repeats, slow runs are so much better these days.

I've had 5 pairs of NB 3's. Great shoe, and still have 2 pairs I run in regularly. I also had a pair of NB 2's. This shoe caused me ankle problems. Had to throw it in the trash.

I had the V1 and took them to 500 miles. Had so much fun in them. And don’t worry, even if you send us to google something, I’m definitely coming back, you ain’t gonna get rid of me that easy 🤷🏻‍♂️🤣😂😆.

For years I'd been a huge fan of the Boston shoe companies that had gotten me to Boston each year (NB, Reebok, Puma-US, Saucony, Topo) and ignored all the rest. Until I bought the Superblast and the Sky Paris. Just picked up the NB3 and the Noosa Tri 15 for a song at my local outlet. The Magic Speed 4 ships to me on Friday. Thanks, Andrew.

Actually checked. I have 1,482 miles in V2s. 1,259 miles in V3s. 28 miles in V4s. (8 total shoes there) Thus far I've been really disappointed with the V4s. Feel so sluggish, but couldn't find anymore 3s. The 2s I appreciated because I could hit 400 miles in them without the outsole disappearing, but the 3s were the only ones I felt good about 20 miles easy or adding in 5 steady with the running group.

That’s insane mileage in those shoes . The 4 is a bit of a sluggish shoe . Nothing to get excited about it really but very comfortable

I have the nova blast 4 and the suacony endorphin speed 4. Nova is good for easy runs but not that impressed. The endorphin speed 4 yes I know it has a nylon plate but gain 15 sec per mile easily and just feels better.

@@MidLifeRunner yes the heel counter is similar to the 4 with pull tab. I never bought the OG 3, so I can't tell which upper and heel counter is better.

Where did you find that deal? I ran out of money when v1 was released and then ASICS never put it on sale - same with the metaspeed sky + , so I never ran in that either. I’m very interested in 2 but I’m short on shoe budget funds again. I have to start getting picky with sc trainer v4, adios pro 4 and sc pacer 2 on the horizon

Google asics discounts and a page pops up with various ones. I use the healthcare one. When covid started it was 50% off for a few years, now down to 25.

Fully agree on the NB3 being awful, one of my least favorite shoes of all time. I do enjoy the NB4, quite a bit actually.. Also, Pinkerton sucked...the blue album is the best...tell me the resonance in the production is not the best...."The world has turned and left me here" is near perfection.

Blue Album set the bar so high for the second album, it was destined to be a let down. It was only years later when I returned to Pinkerton that I could appreciate it. It grew on me. But NB1 definitely was the blue album for me. Btw I think I’ve mentioned your channel is my last 3 to 4 videos now. You’re becoming a staple
