I had the pleasure of being stuck in an airport with Kendrick Perkins a few months after the trade. He is such a nice guy and he was devistated by this. Good to c him doing well now.
This is the first time I in a long time I watched something about hr NBA and felt something. Players get traded everyday in the NBA like loaves of bread, a great job by the association to cover what happens in these players lives. Great job to make these players come across as money, instead of bling hungry, highlight hungry neanderthals like they usual come across as in some parts of the media.
They should have this in NBA 2K13. You are able to talk to your teammates off the court and go out to dinner with them show the emotions behind the scenes show the fun times and bad times as a NBA player. They need to make the game more realistic make it feel like your living the NBA life.
That was CLEARLY a mistake. That 2K11 Boston Team was so STACKED. If they would have had kept Perkins and Nate Robinson, they would have had a GREAT chance to go deeper in the playoffs/finals to beat Miami even Chicago including the fact they had a deeper depth in the roster when Rondo got hurt in the Miami series. A great "WHAT IF"
Danny Ainge screwed this team over SINGLEHANDEDLY. Ainge got way too attracted by the way the Spurs retool, bring in new pieces and somehow stay in contention. He also put way too much faith in Shaq, despite the fact Shaq could barely stay on the field for long periods of time. This trade haunts Danny Ainge to this very day and its the reason he has chosen deals way more carefully and comes away with so many steals, he will never let something like this happen again cause if he did, he would get fired. We would have won the title against The Mavericks gad Danny kept the team intact for the whole season with no trade.
coming from a lakers/knicks fan, this trade really saddened me. i love perk, so many players today lack his "nasty demeanor". hopefully he goes far with okc
HELL YES =) association my player season mode all that. That's what I'm talking about.I like your thinking. Now imma try to get nba 09 the inside. It's the closest i've played to what you put.
I can't believe they traded Perk. It's been a few years now and the Celtics have only gone downhill since that move. (and now poor perk will be known most for being dunked on by blake)
To all the Dallas & Heat fans. Both of those teams would've got BEAT DOWN by The Celtics last season, IF Perkins wasn't traded & if Rondo didn't get hurt. The Heat would've broke up the big 3 probably & Dallas would be butt hurt again, however Dallas lucked up TWICE & didn't have to see the Spurs nor Boston.
I don't think they would have won Game 7 (cos you never know if one thing changes 100 things could change with it, Kobe could have been on in Game 7) in 2010, but they would have probably beat the Heat and the Mavs the following season.
God awful trade, no way around it. Even if you got nothing in return for Perk this year, you HAD to keep him last year to make a championship run. C's were defending Eastern Conf. champs and currently in 1st place in the East when they traded him! Thumbs down for Danny Ainge.
