These two hosts are actually my favorite combination! We have Tracy's brilliant mind coupled with Russell's patience and gentle correction

Instead of "your honor", I always liked the idea of "Captain Kirk". Whenever someone wants to say something about Jesus or god, substitute "Captain Kirk" and see if it sounds silly. If it does, then it also sounds silly with "Jesus" or "god". "And Captain Kirk said 'let there by light'."

When people talk about God it always ends up being an image without form or content, which to me, is an image of nothing at all. In other words a blank canvas.

Supernatural, is "outside of nature". The "mind" can be inside, just as Love is inside nature. An overwhelming experience of love that makes your blood pressure and heart flatline is still inside of nature. These mind and heart "unearthing" or/and "knowing" are all nature. To label something supernatural is only using faith to describe a natural feeling that many people can have. Extraordinary claims requires ANY evidence. Because at first blush, after further consideration, upon extensive study, the claim is considered extraordinary because there does not seem to be a way for ANY evidence to exist for the claim.

As an agnostic, I can understand believing a sort of anthropomorphic concept of a Great Creator and Controller, running the whole show. We humans are thinkers and creators, ourselves, so it could follow that we may be, in a way, a *child* of that thinking process. There does seem to be a thinking process going on all around us, designing life, and maybe even creating it. But it's not a Bronze Age, no-science male personage who was supposed to have once talked to people, yet hasn't in thousands of years. When did the very first thought occur, and how did it occur? This is a great unknown, and many people can't live with such a big question unanswered. And most of all, many can't live with the idea that their consciousness will not go on forever.

I don't know how Joe was allowed on air for so long. These later episodes (I know this was 6 years ago) are far less informative and helpful than the earlier episodes (those from the late 90s through the 2000s).

oh, I know god he proves it every day, he shows me life is miserable, he shows me religion is terrible, oh you who don't believe have it worse than my perfect world view, as you have no hope, god proves it to me in every way. I'm so much better than you, because you don't have my answers, it says so in the Bible, it answers everything, and everyone knows it to be true. Everyone's born knowing, that there's this "being of all", who created evil so good can exist, it's so obvious. You can't know it cause you don't believe. If you had faith, you would see like I do, you would see the hell that awaits for you. Because everything is so complicated and dismal, can't you see it had to be created by some all knowing being? What else could it be?, what depressing answers may you have? All this couldn't have always existed, as evil had to be created out of nothing so that we could have good in all of our lives. It's so obvious why can't you see that? Everything happens for a reason. You know you can't question this/ Oh well, you'll just burn for eternity and I know I'm right, cause it's said in the bible don't you know? Can you imagine eternity? it's longer than quadrillions of years, it's numbers of years I can't even imagine, and you'll burn for longer than that. Science only is opinion and not very old. Sure it's equations give you correct answers, to build all these things just to avoid misery. Don't you see how your answers are just things? You make and create things, but I have god who encompass your things. Don't you see how god's bigger and better? God has created everything!
