The Athenee Hotel, is a luxury collection hotel within the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio.
I have to say I was so impressed with this hotel! Before arriving, I got in touch to request my usual breakfast (avocado on toast and a fresh coconut and a little fruit) and this was no problem. I also (at the same time) cheekily asked for an upgrade to a suite - after all, I am a Titanium Elite member) but I was told they will do their best.
On the day of checking in, I was escorted to level 26, the Royal Club Lounge to check in. Namon checked me in and was absolutely fantastic! He even double-checked all my dietary requirements again!
I have to say, the rooms are nice, I stayed in a Royal Club room on level 25. Also, New York, New Orleans, Miami, Hawaii, London, Singapore and more! I also do flight reviews - most recently a first class flight with Cathay Pacific from London to Hong Kong and Royal Laurel Class with Eva Air from Bangkok to London!
Anyway, I think the rooms are very nicely designed! Everything is luxurious down to the extra padded slippers!
The other stand out features are the Royal Club Lounge, nice vibe, amazing staff, amazing food and very enjoyable. The swimming pool looks bigger than most city centre hotels and is really nice - again a nice vibe! There was also a rooftop garden which you can walk around and which the hotel also uses to do free Mui Tai classes (sorry not sure on spelling) and yoga classes! Lastly, the breakfast at the Rain Tree restaurant / Café on ground floor has one of the largest buffet breakfast selections I’ve seen!
The location is not too bad either, quite close to JW Marriott which is located close to Nana BTS station.
When I was leaving (checking out) Khun Green, the Butler/Royal Club staff personally escorted me down to get my taxi (I had ordered a Grab) and made sure the bell boys and taxi driver looked after me. Super sweet and I will always remember her.
Overall, one of the best hotels in Bangkok and I would definitely consider staying again!
