I love to travel! BUT, I am 99% blind and a lot of the time, I can’t see anything and so I thought it would be interesting to video my flights, hotels and more!

I like to mainly travel in Business or First Class and usually stay in luxury hotels. I like to explore all different cultures and parts of the world and showcase these experiences for you, my viewers!

I have flown EVA many times, great aircraft, great service and staff, good value, fantastic...BUT... some idiot bean counter is making it worse lately, try getting a hot chocolate in economy, HOT CHOCOLATE for xxxx sake, not DomPerignon...I will still fly EVA but it is so ennoying to have cretins spoiling good things for you...

Agree! Thankfully on this route they are operated less now - as far as I am aware. I just flew there and back and neither leg had it! 😀

@@loveflyingandhotels that´s good to know! I am currently planning a Bangkok trip for Feb 2025 but I don´t want to end up in a 2-2-2 cabin, neither do I want to sit in the old Emirates A380 seats. I still have back pain from my last trip in 2012..... Too bad SQ is so expensive Eastboound, their BC seats are the best I ever sat in.

@@charlesjohnson9249 Although you may not get the 2-2-2 when booking., Qatar are known for aircraft changes. even if you book the QSuite there is a possibility that the aircraft change could result in a different seat. I think recently this has improved and there are less aircraft changes and if you can fly the QSuite I think you would enjoy it. I hope you have a good flight.😀

Fair play doing this journey with only 1% vision I find it challenging being 100% sighted, how do you navigate through the terminals at Lhr/Bkk ? I know quite a few of the pavements in Thailands cities have those paving slabs with dimples on them for people with vision problems, I hope you enjoy Samui,. Cheers,.

Hello and thank you for your kind words and understanding! Actually, I cannot really navigate the airport so I request wheelchair assistance (just more easy). I could walk around myself and take hundreds of pictures of each sign, zoom in and then try and work it out but I just take the easy route! Yes, the pavements in Thailand are not the best (on small soi streets). They can be narrow with many bumps or indentations which can cause a trip. Mostly, I stay around the same area (Sukhumvit) and having visited now for 12 years I have now familiarised myself well. 12 years ago I had about 2% vision and life was great! I have occasionally bumped into a pole head on but I just act like I was intoxicated lol!. This happened as I don't walk around with a cane as I don't like everyone seeing my cane. Best review in general. You’re very thorough and have covered all the things which we don’t really see that often in videos. I just came across this review of yours while looking for other properties in Phuket. Im just in love with this resort and have only stayed at this property every time I visited Phuket 😄

@@obsessionx1882 it is fantastic and I think the highlight has to be the beach. It’s the best beach I’ve been on in Phuket and probably in Thailand. Thank you for your kind words, and I appreciate it as it was one of my first videos when I wasn’t very good at this job.. I like to think that I have improved since and I may revisit this property as I’m sure the experience would be very different now. I plan on reviewing the new Courtyard hotel so may do this again at the same time.. I also have a plan to do a few other videos in hotels in Phuket. I hope you find these useful.. 😀🙏

@@loveflyingandhotels hi, that is very generous of you! Yes, I would love to have a contact there. I will be booking more towards December/January since our trip is more towards March 2025. I am hoping to add the Amex Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant Card at that time to get the Platinum Status to experience the lounges at the hotel as well. @@ntrlbrnpnoi Hi, the Saint Regis does not have a lounge. There are a couple of drinks offered to me between 3 pm and 6 pm as well as a few snacks.. if the hotel has a lounge than platinum members or above, you’ll be able to access the lounge together with one. If you have children sharing will also be over today, as long as the lounge accept the children.. I will check out your channel and once you’ve decided what you are booking contact details if you are booking for St Regis,. All the best and have a good week.!

For being 99% blind you did not seem to have any difficulty putting your suitcase on the check in belt as one might have suspected with someone being 99% blind?

@@rock-hh3tk Thank you. Most people actually think I can see about 30% after meeting me. I usually don’t carry my cane as I am conscious that everyone will know that I cannot see.. my own insecurity. I also travel quite a lot and so I’m used to doing many things independently as much as I can.. if I could manage to navigate the airport without Special Assistance,, I would 😊 I hope you enjoyed the video and thank you for your comment. Never enough room for my legs, 6'4" here. I always pay extra for the exit row. Cathay Pacific has the best price tickets for Boston to Philippines I used to fly Emirates but they had ridiculous layover times, 7 hours in Dubai. Cathay, 2 hours in Hong Kong. Economy is economy no matter what airline so I am happy with Cathay Pacific.

@@Tomh821 true, but I think the consistency of the crew on Cathay Pacific is better than Emirates. The last couple of flights on the Emirates in economy were dreadful.. I was so impressed with Cathay Pacific, but then again this is an Asian airline 😀 they are fantastic and despite being in financial difficulty, they are investing so much in the whole product which is impressive, as they are really focusing on..

@@tf1677 hello and welcome to the channel and thank you for your comment. I totally agree that the crew are fantastic and the Special Assistance,, especially in Thailand is superb.. I can see one percent, but I would be really interested to know more about your experience as someone being fully blind. If you feel comfortable sharing, then any experiences you would like to share would be very welcome.. this might also help with future videos and perhaps I can capture more detail with regards to site issues. I simply hold the camera and point it in various directions and take lots of videos and photos, but when taking these videos and photos vast majority, I cannot see what I am filming, but when I watch it back on a larger screen I can then see things on the screen which I can’t see in reality.. I try hard to give more detail and I welcome constructive feedback to help improve the videos for all viewers. Thank you again and have a lovely day.

@@loveflyingandhotels ⁠Thank you! This trip was my first international flight being blind. I lost majority of my sight 3 years ago. I don’t have sight in one eye and the other I have no central vision and everything is pretty blurry anyway. The crew on the flight helped me count rows ahead of me and behind me to easily locate the bathroom. They gave me emergency information in braille and one of the flight crew put tape on the screen so if I needed to call for assistance, I could easily find the location. I had to have connections between Taiwan, Thailand, and finally to Koh Samui. The crew made sure to introduce me to the next crew that would assist me and they did the same when my next connection was with another carrier because EVA doesn’t fly to the islands in Thailand. This was more assistance than I ever experienced here traveling in the US! I have a guided app where someone tells me how to navigate the airport without issue. But I was impressed with EVA air because after I booked, I received a call the next day to learn what I need. I’m always interested in learning how others with sight limitations travel especially solo like myself. Thanks again and happy travels!

I’m so sorry! I have had accessibility issues replying! I’m not totally blind. One eye can only detect light, the other lacks central, so I guess what is missing. Anyway, EVA air has flight crew that provided me with Braille instructions, a crew member applied tactile bumps to call for assistance and they were very accommodating! I hope your channel allows typically visually sighted individuals understand that sight loss is a spectrum and we can fully engage in life! Thank you and all RU-vidrs with sight loss than dispell myths! I am going on additional hikes and adventures despite sight loss that fully sighted individuals told me they would not do! Life is an amazing journey and adventure. Content providers like you help change the narrative!

The drawing room café is kinda tight and crampled, for a five stars hotel, that area could have been wider and spacious with more distance between the tables. And the botero horse is definitely so big that it makes the place tiny. The hotel is nice but space wasn't their main objective I believe. I have been to that hotel and that is the feeling I have. 😢

Thank you. Unfortunately, as a vegetarian all Airlines have limited food choice. But I still enjoyed every aspect of this flight. If you are not a vegetarian, then there is so much choice, and I think you would enjoy it very much..

How can a hotel be human if it is ashamed of itself, immoral, and has no conscience? You are wrong if you think it is more in the interests of the hotel or honorable to put money ahead of promises to customers, corporate ethics, and corporate conscience.How much longer are you going to inflict secondary and tertiary harm on me to wait as I mail more and remember more painful memories?Why did the athenee hotel bangkok bind and isolate me, the victim? Did none of those numerous hotel staff witnesses join me in refusing to cooperate with the police?We barely had to complete the police report in the lumpini police station for about 3 hours.Hotel did never say sincere apology.How empty!Why did they keep pulling me out? Was there any consideration and apology for me over there? NO.Just initial response mistake? When I asked for help with police cooperation, what did the hotel say? And so far?In CCTV she was drinking in the morning.At the same time, she brazenly treated me as a drunk and insulted me again, who couldn't sleep or have breakfast.Even after seeing the situation, the hotel staff were quarantining me, let alone not paying attention to her. How could this be!Hotel kept pulling me again and again.Where is she?Woman supervisor.PleaseI suffered racism and insults at Athenee bangkok. The hotel quarantined me, the victim, and was laughing at the perpetrators who were long-term lodgers. I completed my 10th anniversary trip to Europe the day before yesterday. In the process of the commemorative trip, I had no choice but to arrive in Bangkok early due to the inevitable schedule of the transit flight, and marriot with plattinum was my best choice. However, marriot betrayed it, and I saw an Asisa female customer who came later than me, a white male customer who came alone, checking in first, and my wife who was sleeping hard, hurt my feelings. I said I wanted to use the lounge at reception, and I was resting in the lounge and was told "digusting". I thought I heard it wrong, so I checked with a white couple and was told "digusting" again. The hotel did the second round of harm while stopping me from wanting to be properly apologized, and I finally couldn't hear it. I still remember why I chose this hotel after the trip. Why bangkok is only this low-level country. I don't know why. The hotel has no sincere apology. Was there any consideration and apology for me over there? NO.Just initial response? When I asked for help with police cooperation, what did the hotel say? So far?In CCTV she was drinking in the morning.And hotel kept pulling me again and again.13th April,There was no one over there, including the F&B general manager, who didn't pretend not to know when the Korean Embassy and I asked for a police report cooperation.

To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to report a grave incident of racial discrimination and assault at the Bangkok Athenee Hotel. On 12th April, I, as a victim of racial discrimination, was subjected to physical confinement while the perpetrators, who are Caucasian individuals, were left unpunished and even protected. Despite being the victim, I was forcibly confined to my room, while the Caucasian perpetrators were allowed to roam freely without facing any consequences for their actions. The hotel's refusal to cooperate with the police investigation, including withholding CCTV footage, suggests a deliberate attempt to conceal the crime and manipulate evidence. This gross mishandling of the situation not only perpetuated racial discrimination and humiliation but also exacerbated the harm inflicted upon me. The hotel's actions of protecting the perpetrators and concealing the incident by physically confining me constitute coercion and victimization. It is evident from the lack of physical intervention against the perpetrators and the refusal to cooperate with the police investigation that the hotel prioritized protecting the perpetrators over ensuring justice for the victim. I urge prompt and thorough investigation into this matter to hold the perpetrators and the hotel accountable for their actions. Sincerely,

The hotel, instead of supporting me, a victim of continued insults, actually restrained me and left the perpetrator unchecked. 3. As a result, the perpetrators not only did not repent when I asked for an apology but instead insulted me again, asking if I was drunk. 4. The hotel only verbally apologized without truly understanding my suffering. Their refusal to cooperate with the police investigation the next morning is clear evidence. 5. The hotel even dared to suggest, as if I were the perpetrator, that they had taken action against me. When I could barely ask for an apology from their table without any violence, and they did not even hear the apology, they continued to drag me away unilaterally and further victimize me with lies to avoid responsibility. 6. The hotel manager, who had been exchanging messages saying they would help, suddenly refused my request to go to the police station together, saying let's meet in the lounge at 9 a.m. When I went out, they were standing next to a white couple's dining table, laughing. 7. The reason why the hotel cannot admit that they allowed me into the lounge as a favor is that I had already paid a deposit for lounge access in a platinum tier room and saw them check in another guest who arrived later than me twice before me. But I didn't make a big deal out of it and asked for early check-in again and waited in the lounge. 8. There are no rules in any property in this world where you pay for entry, guaranteeing the safety of your belongings, luggage, and body, that allow insults, leave the perpetrator unchecked without any warning, and drag the victim out for secondary victimization. 9. Even if it's considered a problem between guests, the hotel should provide CCTV footage and witnesses. If there is evidence, that's the end of it. I am very sorry to hear your experience. Normally where CCTV is available and you have reported it to the police they would automatically request the footage to be seen.. I don’t know what happened in your case, but I hope you managed to recover your belongings or perhaps claim on travel insurance.

@@loveflyingandhotels I am not suggesting there is. Again, I was wondering why people do not show how they depart, is it not part of the 1st class experience - lounge car service immigration queus and baggage etc

@@user-em4fd9dv4g Oh I see. I showed the departure lounge and brief check in - I only show that if the people are comfortable;e with filming. There is no car service with this, I grabbed a taxi. I couldn’t film immigration. The lounge was called The Private Room and was very nice.

It's an Amazing Airline. Helpful, Consistent service and Feels Like home. However, I prefer the A350s, not A380s. SQ still my favourite A380 airline but SQ has Much more to Serve with A350s, From Shortest flights to Destinations like Kuala Lumpur to the World's longest non stop flights which is The New York route. I flew on SQ 423 from Mumbai on the A380 and then SQ 422 on the A350 to Mumbai last year in March and June Respectively!

If I visit the hotel again soon, then I will try and find out and let you know, but this might take some time as I don’t have any plans to revisit the hotel in the next 12 months.. good luck with your internship 😀

Cathay have certainly upped their game. I flew EVA economy to BKK earlier this year and they've gone downhill somewhat, and this A350 Cathay product is far better than the EVA offering, which was a tired old 777 in a 3-4-3 config. The food looks very good, decent portions and the fact they offer snacks during the flight as well is a nice touch, along with the complimentary bottle of water. IFE seems to be varied as well which again, points to a better product all round. Again, a nicely paced, informative video with great delivery and a pleasure to watch. Cheers!!

I've been away from RU-vid for a while now, and I'm so glad to see you've made a good few videos since , so there's plenty for me to catch up on. You're by far the best travel vlogger out there!. Always a great, well paced and informative video. I like the "fun facts" as well, a nice bit of info. It's certainly the way to travel, absolute luxury and reminds me of the videos which show the "golden age" of flying when there would be waiter service and all the passengers were dressed in suits and posh dresses. Definitely a latto win experience for me!.

I stayed at the W Barcelona, which I think is one of their best properties in the world. In New York, I stayed at the Crowne Plaza hotel at the Times Square. What would you rate this out of 10? Mine would probably be 5/10

Some reviews of the bed have said that it was hard and not as plush as it appears in pictures. What was your impression of the comfort of the bed itself? (Not the bedding). Planning to book the Suite product as part of a milestone birthday trip for myself! Great video!

Thank you. I didn’t notice it being overly hard but I do like a harder bed than a softer one. Thinking about it it probably is slightly hard for the average person.. one solution might be to ask them for an extra duvet and use that to soften up the bed if you prefer a soft bed. But overall absolutely fantastic flight. 😀

Excellent mate.. I am an AUSSIE Tamil from South India- lived in Melbourne 2007 to 2019 . Regular route - Tullamerine,Victoria- Changi - Coimbatore CJB 2007 to 2019 Singapore airlines is the best spot to get back to AUS and home.. My last one way trip Tullarmerine was Nov 1 2019 Back in South India - Tamilnadu- Coimbatore city... Lovely video...

I laughed when I heard you say you wished for another 14 hours. I've done the same thing - asking the crew to slow the plane down so I could enjoy more time in First Class. It never works. The only thing to do is start planning the next trip.
