It’s been a long painful process watching drafted edge rushers in Atlanta. That said, if Arnold ebikete can build on those 6 sacks and Zach Harrison/Bralen trice get about 7 a piece, then Kaden Ellis blitzing more with a healthy Troy Anderson back in coverage, we could see an even better pass rush this year. I expect that.
Im sure teams caught on to what we were doing. We struggled with qbs that could run when needed. Im not sure if grady would have made a difference other than lack of depth. Our schedule was really weak.
@jacobmcfadden19 we played the panthers, jets, new orleans scored 15 on us, and the bucs scored 13. Those were terrible offenses and terrible teams. Just looking at what the defense ranked as your measuring stick is diabolical.
@jwill8386 also played gb, texans, lions, jags in that stretch. Just cause you picked 3 teams that weren't that good don't mean jack shit dude. Went from #6 overall defense to #22...argue all you want it is fucking invalid cause grady on the field makes ALOT more of and impact that your ass is thinking
@jacobmcfadden19 Do those terrible teams not help how successful the defense was? Get angry all you want but a lot is two words not one 😅. At the end of the day our defense wasnt as good as you think it was. Neilsen is gone for a reason.
Before this injury, Kirk had never missed a game due to injury in 12 seasons. In fact, the last time he had a serious injury (a broken ankle) was way back when he was a junior in high school. The man knows how to take care of his body and uses Brady and Brees as his inspiration on how to play excellent football into his 40’s. He was the most hit QB in 2022 and still never missed a single game. Since college, he has had a year-round fitness regimen that focuses on flexibility and agility and prioritizes lengthening his muscles rather than bulking up as quarterback’s muscles must be long and elastic. He also trains for all three planes of motion in his body: the sagittal plane, frontal plane and transverse plane. The goal is to build strength, stability, power, endurance and mobility in each, all of which are taxed by the quarterback position. Notoriously meticulous in his approach, Kirk did more than simply try to adopt Brady’s highly restrictive diet. He sought out a scientific explanation of the way his body processes food based on blood work analysis. The test identified the type of food the body is sensitive to and, as a result, must expend extra energy to process. He also has a hyperbaric chamber and a full-time body coach (like Mahomes has). He had stem cell therapy at the beginning of the year. There is a whole bunch of other stuff that he does as well to keep himself healthy. And the only reason that Kirk even tore his Achilles was that he wore the longer spikes for the first time in his 12 year career and said that his cleat got stuck in the ground. The Vikings slipped on the turf the year before at Lambeau and the whole team decided that they needed to wear them for the next Packer game.
How players look in training camp doesn’t mean anything. The hype doesn’t mean anything. Win actual games during the actual season. The falcons have not sniffed the playoffs 6 years and freaking counting; and nothing will likely change this year.
@@Brownishcows10 FYI: After the news broke that Kirk was signing with the Falcons, Sportsbooks moved the Falcons to 30/1 to win Super Bowl 2025 after opening at 50/1 prior. Atlanta now has the 12th-best odds to win the Lombardi Trophy. The Falcons are also 14/1 to win the NFC Championship on BetMGM Sportsbook, the sixth-best odds. Draft Kings Sportsbook also list the Falcons as the betting favorites to claim the NFC South title. And the NFL would not have scheduled four primetime games if they thought the Falcons were gonna be bad. I would recommend watching Kirk vs the 49ers last season when he had actual pass protection and only had a mediocre defense. He's got a better o-line and defense in Atlanta.
