The Atlanta Hawks traded Dejounte Murray to the New Orleans Pelicans for Dyson Daniels, Larry Nance Jr., and first-round pick in the 2025 and 2027 draft. Jarvis Davis and Deshaun Tate talked about #atlanta #atlantahawks #nba
Ladies and Gentlemen, as at Atlanta native, this is why I am an Atlanta Braves fan. Do not, I repeat DO NOT put any confidence in the Atlanta Hawks. Period. Yall would be better spending a little more in Atlanta Braves tickets and spending a little more on gas driving to Truist Park basketball stadium, for the Atlanta Braves, in Cumberland, Georgia (Cobb County), in Northwest Atlanta metropolitan area, than spend less on Atlanta Hawks tickets downtown in Atlanta at the State Farm Arena. The Atlanta Braves tickets may be a little more, but compared to the Atlanta Hawks tickets being a little cheaper, as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. These guys have no idea what they are talking about. Just surface headlines. DJ obviously didnt fit wirh Trae, his defense was not as advertised. Making rhe best of a bad trade.
If the Owner is not going invest in the franchise, why not just sell the team. We are not spending our hard earned money for this crap. You all…Owner/GM have a couple of months to show the state of Georgia, are we in win now mode or rebuilding. Fans are going to let you all know how they feel by training camp. Hopefully we have more fans at State Farm’s than College Park!
@@MrTerrell966 you think Pels shoulda added Herb or Murphy? That's foolish. Even 3 unprotected 1st is an overpay, but u're a brainless casual, so you'll never understand...
I’m sorry but you guys are just wrong. This DJ trade is HUGE. Just look at what the Knicks did this past year. Get people out of the way from taking possessions from Trae. Allow Jalen to get more shots. Add long versatile defenders. We have always had an AMAZING offense under Trae. If we can have 14 other players who play defense then we can win. It’s that simple. It’s like the pistons with Thomas. Little guard made it all go. And everyone else played defense for him.
@@kevlamar6613 you are literally proving you haven’t watched the hawks. Jalen JOHNSON put up close to star level numbers on low usage. Bring his usage up because DJ won’t be taking it, and he will be a great second star. Also, the hawks had 3 forwards on the whole roster last year. Under our current construction just with signings, trades, and draft picks we have 8. We are making moves. People are just talking about a roster they know nothing about.
@Spencetenor lol Johnson my bad. Still stands Jalen need to have 7-8 40 point games this season avg 28pts++ otherwise no playoffs. Trade Hunter b4 the deadline. Load up on 2025 picks. They're not beating Orlando Indiana or NYC, Boston
This trade undervalued Dejounte Murray as a player. You can’t have Mikal bridges go for 5 1st round picks and Dejounte go for 2 1st round picks. They are about on the same level and Dejounte is slightly better. League is definitely laughing at us. Other players around the league see how we value our players. They see how bad management is here and that’s why a big city like atlanta can’t recruit superstars. To win in this league you need two superstars. Atlanta has yet to provide Trae with that type of team. He honestly needs a superstar big or wing player and surround him with defense. Giving Landry til the end of the summer but I honestly don’t have faith in him.
2 totally different situations.. KNicks went AFTER Mikal HARD to get the last member of the Villanove gang.. and had the assets to pay whatever... Every team knew we had to move Murray because it wasnt working.. Getting back 2 picks we lost is huge imo...Plus a young wing defender and PF/C depth
Jarvis and Deshun, I apologize for being a blind fan. I wanted to trust Landry, but I'm so disappointed. This is worse than what the Hawks did with Nique. Nothing. Bruh I've been a fan since day 1 I've seen it all and I still wanted to believe, this is complete BS
More shots for Jalen and Risacher. If y'all didn't notice Dejontae neva got assists in the last 4mins of games,, he just shoots a middy but doesn't get others involved. Landry had to get a sum 1st Rd picks back. I understand it
as a Pels fan, I do feel like this was a “big bank take little bank” trade with no BI. Dyson is improving and a solid defender but lacks confidence offensively. Too much hesitation. I would have preferred Trae coming to the N.O. Welp! As Dave Chappell would say, “Good luck ninjas” 😂😂😂
We had a 28th ranked defense last year and we added switchable defenders to improve our terrible defense. Dyson Daniels fits. With Trae, our offense has always been top of the league. That’s not the issue. I see the vision and yes we are improving.
Stop complaining fellas this trade makes the most sense. The Hawks are very very far from being a top 5 team in the east. Yall think the Hawks is actually going get a Anthony Edwards, Jayson Tatum, Giannis, or a top 5 player in a trade. The Hawks has nothing to offer to get these players while keeping Trae Young.
Should've been Murphy III. This kid is the same ol same. He ain't getting big minutes. Dumb. No 3pt shooting . Jalen Johnson better have a runner up MVP season or else these birds ain't getting off the ground
I think we did get better. Sometimes it is addition by subtraction. Murray was a mistake and our defense will improve significantly with Nance & Dyson. Trae & Murray were negative when they were both on the court.
lol wtf yall think we were getting for DJ? Im cool with it.. DJ and Trae was never going to work. Hawks could have two 1st rd picks in a stacked 25 draft.... Lakers wont be that good imo..Pels and Bucks could be bad by 27 too..
We have a bunch of morons in the hawks front office, gave up a 20 ppg guy and got nothing in return especially when we gave up 3 first round picks and only got back 2 in return, pelicans keep Ingram and can trade him elsewhere or keep him and add Murray. Now I’m starting to think our rookie will be a bust due to laundry fields being a moron
This is so laughable. Are we supposed to believe that including Brandon Ingram in these trade ins an issue. How asinine is that. Why should the Hawks acquire one of the most injured players in the NBA. Where was Brandon Ingram going to play and what role was he going to play. Were the Hawks willing to pay him near or max player money.
Don’t forget about how it was sold as an “experience” and marketed as a “networking event” to come “mingle” and have drinks while sitting on plush couches. I don’t forget. I keep receipts.
