I read these anthologys back in the 70's and or course that time was a different era than today. My take was that they were a window back to the attitudes of that time. I enjoyed them very much, and think you are quite harsh when you criticize them. Very likely, sometime in the future, somebody will be rolling their eyes if learning your sensitivities ! These authors were thinking 'out the box' but they were thinking outside THEIR box. Don't be so quick to say awful !
