i've had a few strange health weeks myself and the phrase "tired of being tired" comes back to me again and again in the content i consume and like... yeah, i get it... but i am really glad that there are people like you on the internet, who talk about these kinds of things because it makes me feel less alone and reminds me that i am not "failing at life" by being sick, so i just wanted to thank you for sharing your life with us :)
Hello! As always amazing video! Just a tip here: you can buy a page lifter which prevent back pages from curling under the rings when you close your binder. A fancy pagelifter is usually a piece of plastic, but you can DYI your own, you just need to cut something sturdy like cardboard and holepunch it. Hopefully you will feel better upcoming week! Take care of yourself!
I have an awful sense of time, but I love checking my phone, seeing a notification for your video, and learning that it's Saturday all at once. I'm also building it into my schedule that I start work on my nervous system regulation program (for my chronic illness and audhd) right after I watch a video
it is so tough dealing with our bodies when they work against us. smh. i will always advocate rest when things are overwhelming. as women…we cycle through the month and go through hormonal shifts so i’ve been paying attention to how that aeffects my flair ups, stress, etc. since moving into rings i’ve learned to use loose binder rings and laminated or cardstock covers to archive a month at a time. i can still access the info but it’s not overwhelming my cover and rings. it’s a new month so this is my first time doing it and it feels satisfying. it makes me feel like i’m starting a new notebook. i’ve minimized the space on my weekly also because i will overwhelm myself with task. on the side i have a task list for extra things that i would like to get done but is not absolutely required. if you end up not liking the filofax, moterm is a really good brand and they have a5 sizes. they have a lot of pockets and a nice finish.
i’m always looking forward to your videos :) i like the comfort in knowing that it is okay to struggle and that it’s not just ‘laziness’ when dealing with a chronic illness. you’ve helped me immensely so thank you
I don't know if you would ever want to, but I would love to see your physical music collection. Or atleast a part of it, like just your favorite albums and maybe any info you have about collecting analog in 2023. I love when you flip through all of your tapes and CDs. Just if you ever wanted to I know the interest is there.
I have been interested in commonplacing in a ringed binder but was stumped with archiving. I stumbled onto clear PVC binders as an inexpensive way to archive my pages. As my collection grows, I can specialize the binders for very little money. I often flip through my completed binder and add to it or to revisit the information. Thanks for your videos!
A page lifter for the back of the binder will help with closing the binder without having to manually shift the pages. You can use anything such as cardboard or plastic, it just has to be pretty rigid.
I’m reading ACOTAR after seeing them in your videos and having so much fun with them too. Especially since it took such a huge turn in book 2. I’m now working on A Court of Silver Flames. I feel like they really turned me back into the voracious reader I was before university took the fun out of it. I really enjoy when you share about books and we have very similar taste, so thank you.
Good luck with future doctor appointments 💜 I just wanted to share something about carrying stuff around the house that you might find useful. I have a bag that I pack with stuff like kindle, laptop and charger, medicine, hand cream, lip balm, etc. And I carry it around the house so I always have everything in the same room as me. It may be a bit silly but it really changed my everyday life. I call it "my home bag" 😅
this is unsolicited and im so sorry but: in the spirit of making the world less irritating, rather than trying to make yourself less irritated, you could get a second laptop charger that you keep downstairs, especially if it's something you need daily. once again, very sorry for the unsolicited advice!! love the videos :)
Not necessarily a spoiler but I know the spicy stuff in A Court of Silver Flames was a bit offputting for you- and as a warning Crescent City book 2 has scenes like that. I think world building and character wise CC book2 is excellent so I dont want to deter you, but just warn you you might have to like, skim by 20 pages really fast 😅 If you like SJM, and hearing how you want A Lot of books and great characters/world I'd highly reccommend the Throne of Glass series if you haven't read them. 7 books, progressively get beefier in size- they're concluded (Sarah has said she has other ideas for that world but nothing concrete), and there's a BUNCH of characters I think you'd like quite a few of them. There's also a lot of fics, so I hope you'll be plenty entertained for awhile 💞
Isn't the leather ruler of the filofax to keep the paper up? This might explain the space below the paper and why the organizer doesn't close properly.
I haven't read the series that you are reading, but from the ✨vibes✨ they're giving off I think you'd love Samantha Shannon. Priory is long if you look at it as a single book, but if you want things that go on and on its not and you can just think of it as a series in one volume...
Late commenting on this…. But I felt the exact same way when I finished the cruel prince series 😭 I am still so attached to them and the world. It’s just so easy to fall into. Also with the first crescent city book I was also getting lost lmao. She really does throw so much info at you in the beginning and is like “alright, got it? Good” and then continues on like 🥴 so good though
I think the harrods ruler is a protector. I think you put it in the back of your filofax and it protects the cover against the rings creating indents. I do agree though, too bad that you can’t get a cover, especially if you don’t like their inserts
I also binged the cruel prince books in like three days ^^ I'm not even into fantasy romance to begin with but god now I get why people can read twenty books in a month
Oof I can hear it in your voice at the start of the video. I hope you can get some answers/help. Take care of yourself Megan. If you haven't read the Founder's trilogy by Robert Jackson Bennett they are super solid.
Hi Megan, want to thank you because I finally got my first hobonichi techo because of your lovely videos. I've watched many in the span of a few days, and I hope I'm not being forward, but from your sharing of your health issues, I wonder if you've ever considered holistic healthcare? Such as acupuncture and herbal medicine? Often people suffering from long term/chronic health issues can be helped with natural medicine in ways that the conventional medical system just isn't equipped to do (from personal and other experience). Anyway, sending love and care from your new subscriber :).
Hope you and your doctors find a solution 💖 I have chronic fatigue from a concussion (15+ years now) and after making sure iron levels, sleep/habits are optimal, I started alternating (4-6 week cycles) schisandra and rhodiola, which I found super helpful. I still often listen to my body and nap around 4pm, but it's an easier push to get there with those herbal supplements. Hope this helps 🤗
Hi Megan, thank you for sharing a bit of your week with us! Always so inspiring! I had similar issues with chronic fatigue and migraines and found out I had a thyroid issue after my doctor checked via bloodwork. Have you ever had your thyroid checked? I thought it might be worth mentioning or asking your doctor since it was a life changing discovery for me after I found out! Take good care! ❤
Tired of being tired is the story of my life. I hope you are able to find answers soon. I’m very familiar with the sleepiness scale you’re using-I have to fill it in every time I go to my sleep doctor. My doctor uses it to gage how narcolepsy treatment is going for me. If you’re curious about narcolepsy, I’d be happy to answer any questions you have. Best of luck finding answers!
Do you have a Goodreads or a Tumblr tag where you reference all the books you like? I'd love to jot down some notes but going back through every video feels daunting and perhaps a bit creepy lol.
i'm really late to the party here, but I think the leather "ruler" might not be a ruler! I've seen some high-end ring binders come with similar things, and they're meant to prevent the rings from leaving indentations on the leather cover itself. So you would pop that in the very front so the rings don't directly touch the cover. Sorry if someone already commented or if you've mentioned it in the newer videos. Still catching up on the videos.
i have a random question so i hope you / anyone who can relate will respond -- asking because of the clip where your da goes with you to the post office, do you ever get self conscious about doing things with a parent? sometimes i can't do things alone and need one of my parents to come with me even though i'm in my late 20s so i get embarrassed by it. especially because i look younger than i am so people treat me younger anyways but.. yeah. just wondering. about self consciousness and its link to infantilization of autistic adult femmes etc
You have the same two Filofax covers as me though mine is just an everyday Original. Because the heritage is a 'slim' edition I use it as a daily filo and I use the original as my reference filo. Filofax themselves make some archive folders which you can buy online easy enough though I use Filofax clipbooks as I got a load of them cheap. If you want a band to fit round your Heritage, Filofax did sell one for their A5 clipbook series which is what I used. Your pages are so neat and well designed! Did you use a Laser printer or inkjet? Tempted to make my own now having seen how good yours are 😃
Okay, if you love ACOTAR, and you’re enjoying crescent city, I would STRONGLY suggest reading her throne of glass series. I PROMISE it’s worth it. I don’t want to say anything to spoil anything for you, but I STRONGLY suggest reading it since you’re reading the other two. If you read it, you’ll literally say “oh. I see why I should have read these, as well.” The world building, the characters, the universe. SJM is so good. I can’t put it into words until you read them!
I was thinking that you're probably a Jesus and Mary Chain sort of person, so seeing that CD put a smug knowing smile on my face. My Bloody Valentine next, probably. 🙂
Hi i have a question, what do you do with binders or notebooks that you havent finished but dont use anymore? Its something that keeps me from trying new template notebooks, any advice?
I'm so sorry that you struggle so much with your health in the moment. I have also a condition with much fatigue. Would you talk a little more about it and how you deal with it in your daily life?
also, should you want a bigger series with Lots and Lots of worldbuilding: the wheel of time by robert jordan (and brandon sanderson) it's 14 books of 600-1000 pages each, which is a lot but it's soo good. i just finished the seventh book for the first time and i can't wait to get the eighth on monday
