Cody Call Mythbusters Engineered the results to match the results they wanted. Case in point Sugar in the gas tank and mothballs in the gas tank. I have worked on cars for more years for over 30 years and have seen fuel system trashed by sugar and engines destroyed by mothballs and I hate to think how many tires I have set fire doing burn outs with junk cars heading to the crusher

I know it sounds stupid, but i run headers that melt wires as fast as you can put them on, and I finally found a way to stop it last year. After spending a ton of money on high end "melt proof" wires, and another ton on high end witlre insulators when that didnt work, I turned to multiple layers of name brand tin foil and tiny hose clamps... looks ghetto, yes, but I made it through a whole summer this year without new plug wires, which was almost a weekly thing before. Love the vids.

maybe try 3m aluminum tape the high heat stuff It should look a little better, but that works too

@@shanetheman2k3 tried the top of the line aluminum reflector tape and it melted the wires still. Even got the old school asbestos wraps from an old motor head I knew and it smoked through in a few days. I payed 4 times the price of some "high heat proof" wires as some expensive msd wires.... Melted through. Did about six to 8 wraps of heavy duty reynolds and it held up great. When I stored her for the winter I noticed it was getting a bit brittle though.

You guys need to be introduced to something called Kaowool, or aluminum oxide matting. Looks like fiberglass, but it's white and will take a shitload of heat.... people use it to make trash can metal foundries.... should work fine for this.

I actually find it a little weird they are going so hard for 8's in Ruby when they already have Leroy - I feel like they're just gonna keep pushing Ruby to do more until they basically have 2 of the same car except one has a body. It would be more interesting overall if they went for maximum variety among their active race cars - That's why I'm glad they are so far sticking with the Ford engine in the Crown Vic, it keeps things different. Maybe something with a Hemi or a diesel, whatever

How about buying some ceramic plug wires and then wrap them in some of Freddys gold insulating tape? Ceramic coating the exhaust pipes would be nice also. Burnt plug wires are a stupid way to blow an engine.
