My brother may he Rest In Peace introduced me to Malcolm X life at 16. Malcolm X introduced me to seeking knowledge of my history. And today I’m known or called Shirley X amongst my peers. Man can commit murder and take away the physical being but not the seeds of which the physical has planted. Rest In Peace to both my brother and Malcolm whom has enlightened me.

I first read the autobiography of Malcolm X in the late 1970s while in the military stationed in West Germany. When I was born my family on my Mother's side were members of the Nation of Islam. So I had experienced both the Nation of Islam and the Christian Church as a child so it made reading the autobiography that much more of an impact on me. And until reading the Qur'an no other book had such an impact on me not even the bible. So every time I hear or read someone talk about the book changing their life I understand. And as others have said before me this should be a required reading in our educational system.

Malcolm X was ahead of his time. everyone should take time to learn about Malcolm X, Dr. Huey P Newton , Bobby Seale & the Black Panther Party as a whole, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., etc. there’s so many other greats that need to be taught in school.

First time listening to this autobiography , the 16 of May 2020..my heart aches and at the same time could not be more proud of a brother... I can't express the emotions that I'm feeling right now.. I will listen to this audio again though I prefer to read the book if I can get it

This is a book about life, as much as the quran and the hadiths of the prophet mohamed (PBUH) is. Essential reading. May allah grant him the gates of paradise. Ameen. A true icon for humans who want right and equality in society.

Thank u sooooo much for this I read this as a youngster but needed a refresher! Paints a vivid picture of the hustle to stay afloat....didn’t know his mother’s mother was part white. I too found that out about my great grandmother from Tennessee

DO NOT PURCHASE ANY VERSIONS AFTER 1992. Because since then, it has been HEAVILY EDITED w/UNTRUTHS, & some informations removed. Since the death of Alex Haley, the original manuscript, has changed hands. The Malik Shabazz Estate has since taken back the INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY. I would suggest editions from 1965-1977...

At this point, June 24 2020, 309 people disliked this autobiography. Malcolm X exemplified a person that had a bad start, self educated himself and climbed out of the ashes, was misled and found the truth in brotherhood of man. Desired to share this with America to overturn the wicked consciousness of racism, and we dislike that???? Maybe it was for something else. Idk.

I am a Latino..This book is powerful!!..I am a Christian..Not the 1s you see on tv not the 1 most of us have grown up in. When Jesus told Peter upon this rock I will build my church that is the church that I am a part of..He never said upon this church I will build a Muslim,Catholic,Baptist etc church. We are gonna be dead longer than we have ever lived. Repent and never follow any man. Man is corrupt. When we meet our maker we will not be able to give the excuse that we were told this or that. This is the first book I’ve read cover to cover. Malcom x has an incredible transformation during his life and the writer has done a good job describing Malcolm’s life with ups and downs. It truly changed my life and I guess many others too.

So gratefull to the narrater for giving this book so much soul and so much relevance. as Tu Pac once said, and I paraphrase here and mean no disrespect : "All the good "nword" always end up end up Dead". Same.. I had read non stop up until that point. Then when I realized the pages were coming close to the end, I didn't open my ebooks app for about a week or so because I knew what was coming 😢 I absolutely hate that Malcolm was killed. If I could go back in time and take a bullet for anyone, it would've been Malcolm. Our people needed him so badly! More than we realized at that time! I wish our people back then would have realized the importance of this man's existence. I seriously doubt our community would be in as bad of a shape that it's in now had Malcolm lived to teach and guide us. The people that killed him could not see the bigger picture... or maybe they could 🤔

I'm also betting Black Communities across the country would be in much better condition physically, emotionally and financially. Also wondering their reactions had they lived through the current white kkkop fatal shootings. Maybe both would of convinced all Black People to migrate back to Africa, the Motherland. That's one plane trip I would gladly be on.

I am in tears. What a great man! The reading is elite. As a muslim, I would like to let you know that Muhammad bin Abdullah (SAW) was the last Prophet of ALLAH. He was the seal to the series of prophets sent to earth. Elijah was a self proclaimed prophet. According to the true Islamic belief, "ALLAH is one and Muhammad SAW is His last messenger." Anyone who doesn't believe this, is a kafir, a non believer!
