This video is similar to the video ''The indigo pants'', although enough steps but not intention to teach how to make it. I just want to show you that a shirt can be hand-sewn :D
This white fabric is cotton that grown from Vietnamese moutain, naturally cultivated and hand-woven. This piece is just enough, the sleeve is almost too small :p

When I lived in a tiny trailer back when I was pregnant with my daughter in 1986, I wanted to make her a doll and had no room for a sewing machine so I made her a doll and clothes completely be hand. It was so much fun. I really enjoyed the whole process and the doll turned out great. She had that doll all of her childhood years.

Don’t be discouraged! You actually don’t even need a machine. You can just pick up a needle and thread and make small secure stitches. I sewed a whole tank top once because I didn’t know how to use the machine. Just make sure to secure at the end.

@@DinLife Yes! I am well. I am sewing skirts for little girls now. And pretty aprons too! They are my neighbors, and I am their adopted grandma. I'm beginning to teach them to sew as well. Their mom takes me shopping and we buy secondhand pillowcases and sheets that we can upcycle into cute clothing for them.

I love your videos. They always remind me of my childhood on my grandparents' farm. It was a simple life, just minimal technology, no fancy toys and lots of work on a daily basis. But it was a slow-paced life, full of moments in which I was laying in the gras or on the warm stones, looking up in a bright blue sky and lazy clouds. Your videos make me feel homesick, and I love it.

These videos are for enjoyment. They arent long enough to learn to sew nor do they teach us anything specific. And it's possible she just complimented the sewists handwork.

What a contrast these beautiful videos are to our complicated, stressful world where everything is processed quickly and these wonderful arts (sewing, cooking etc) are not shared much. I went on a roadtrip back in 1987 and discovered, three hundred miles from home, that I'd forgotten my suitcase. I had no clothes except the shorts and tank top I was wearing. However, I had made yellow cotton curtains for our van. So when it was my husband's turn to drive, I sat in the back of the van and made an outfit: a skirt with a drawstring waist and simple long jacket. It was wonderfully meditative and I got very good at my handstitiches.
