Hulk is actually bigger than Thanos. Unfortunately Thanos is a better fighter and has the power stone. 🤷♂️ There's always going to be another monster in the closet, unfortunately.
One thing to keep in mind is that Thanos didn't just eliminate 50% of life on Earth. Using the Infinity Stones he was able to eliminate 50% of life in the entire universe. Thanos was never intending to live on Earth, it just happened to be where the last Infinity stones were.
Sure, and that's also the dumbest solution ever written by writers. If you just wipe out half of the dominant species, you delay whatever dystopia they would end up in by about 40 years (population was doubling every 40 years, so halving it is just a very temporary delay). On the other hand, if you wipe out 50% of all life, you also halve the available food, making it a "u wot m8?"
@@LeMn680 In order for anyone else in the universe to have helped they would have needed 3 things. First, the power/capabilities to be of any assistance, Second, they would have needed the knowledge of Thanos' plan, and that the attacks were happening and he was actively collecting the stones, and Third, the ability to travel across space and time fast enough to get to the battles. Remember it only took Thanos approx 24 - 48 hours to execute his plan. There was nobody in the universe that met all three criteria.
@@LeMn680other people from universe were there everybody from the The guardians of the Galaxy except for Peter is not from Earth. Thor is not from Earth. He took the power Stone from zandar, so he defeated them so they couldn't help.
Ppl had to know what thanos was doing. Where thanos was. And care about earth. Even if they care, did they have anyone capable of fighting thanos? One good thing about eternals. It explained why erarth has a mutant population.
The theatre experience watching this will never be matched ... a entire threatre dead silent except for sobs and crying. The walk out was like leaving a funeral :( One of the best movies ever made imo :)
The musical score during Gamora's death ("Even For You") is the same as the score during Vision's death ("I Feel You"). That heartbreaking music was the perfect complement to the heartbreaking visuals. 😭😭
I’m not sure if you’re luck or unlucky to not have experienced this in theaters. It was a once in a lifetime experience to be around fans and understanding everyone’s paid, sadness, helplessness…. NGL, it took me a few days to get over it.
In the comics, Thanos’ motivation is much different than in the movies. Death is an actual character, and he falls in love with Mistress Death when he was a child. Since he had all of The Infinity Stones with The Gauntlet, he begins killing half of all beings around the galaxy, because he thinks that she will return his love. Mistress Death rejects him, he gets angry, and traps her and some other Cosmic Entities in The Soul Stone. He is eventually defeated by many of Earth’s heroes, as well as some Cosmic Beings (the names aren’t super important, because many you probably won’t know who they are), and one of the Cosmic Entity tells Thanos that the only reason he was defeated was because he felt that he wasn’t worthy of wielding so much power. There’s A LOT more to the story, but that’s a pretty quick and basic explanation of the story in the comic books, compared to the movies.
Damn, part of it actually worse. Doing out of love? Meh. His motivation in movie is much more dramatic. And I never understood why noone of characters sympathise with him, hearing universe is going to shambles of chaos and despair and he tries to fix it. And noone tried to talk him out of it, to find other soultions. Such good character.
@@skywillfindyou, where did I comment that one reason was better, or worse, than the other one? I clearly stated that Thanos’ reasoning behind the comic book storyline was different than the movie storyline. That was it.
I remember leaving the theater and just walking home (glad I didn't have to drive) like a zombie. I was gobsmacked..and like everyone else is saying, it was complete silence as people sort of shuffled mindlessly out of the cinema. I've never seen a movie do that to so many people so thoroughly. Quite the experience!
You can’t imagine the stunned silence mixed with tears when we saw this on opening night in the theaters. Even those of us who knew the Infinity War saga from the comics were shellshocked that they actually made a comic book movie where the villain wins. They did an amazing job keeping spoilers quiet, so many people were inconsolably crying as they walked out of the theater. Then we had to wait sooooo long for Endgame!
Thor's entrance was probably the best superhero entrance in film history. Its like a PRIME 1991/92 Michael Jordan walks into a college teams' locker room thats getting ready to play in the NCAA tournament and says, "I'm playing".
Fun fact about Thanos - he is actually FAR less powerful in the MCU than he is in the comics. In the story this is based on, once he has the full gauntlet, the cosmic entities (abstract concepts that govern the entire universe) confront and fight him. Each takes a turn and is dominated. Then they all attack him simultaneously - beings like Order and Chaos, Mistress Love and Sire Hate, Mistress Death (the embodiment of death itself in Marvel), Chronos (time itself), Infinity and Eternity (the living embodiment of the entire universe). Everyone jumps him - and they lose. He defeats and imprisons them ALL. He then usurps the throne of Eternity and BECOMES THE UNIVERSE. So when people say Thanos is overpowered in the movies, they had to severely tone him down for the MCU. He would've killed everyone instantly even without the gauntlet.
20:30 Rogers: "We don't trade lives." Rogers is being disingenuous. He would be the first to volunteer to give up his life to save his team or the Universe. There are a few times when he's been disingenuous with his "morals".
I was always amazed how people were so surprised with Strange giving him the Time Stone.. He was the ONE possible future where they win.. he knows what he's doing. He's brilliant.
Had a random memory pop in my head at the beginning of your video when you were talking about the location of each stone as of where you currently are in the saga. I remember back when the second trailer came out, there were a lot of stupid theories/articles about the location of the soul stone. The funniest one was the people who said that Cap had it in him the whole time cause his soul is "pure" and cause they could have swore his eyes change slightly orange when hes holding onto the gauntlet in the trailer lol
My first several watches of this movie, I felt like I didn't like Natasha's hair in this movie, but then I realized looking back that after the events of Civil War, she was on the run from Senator Ross and the government after helping Cap and Bucky get away, so she had cut her hair and almost certainly gave it a store bought bottle dye job, which would explain why it looks so dull and dead. She wasn't exactly going for glamorous shiny hair since she was a fugitive trying to blend in.
Evie, the way you see things is so...refreshing. Of all the reactors I've watched thus far, you're the ONLY one who saw Strange's prophecy as a positive. Everyone else saw the 14,000,604 battles we lost as incredibly bad, but you only considered the one that was won. You said "Okay. Cool cool cool. We only need the one. Truly." 👍
@@Short_N_Simple I've been to 3 movies in theatres in my life, 2 growing up, and then I caught Endgame opening night after having watched all of the movies leading up to it. I was a huge fan of all the movies, but never a need to see them in theatres, or even the year they released most of the time. Infinity War changed that for me so that i NEEDED to be there for Endgame. Went with 7 friends. 5 of us sobbed like children, I was shaking at the fast food diner we went to afterword for over an hour. Most of my buddies just sat staring at our food going "what...the fuck....did we just watch".
Imagine full theaters of people exiting when this movie ends, some crying and some in shock. It was like leaving a funeral after every screening. That's what opening weekend was like. And then everyone had to wait a full year to see how and if the remaining heroes could possibly fix things.
One of the rare reactors that is able to follow characters and stories across all of the Phases. And it amplifies the reaction we're watching a lot -- with the added wit I dare to say this was a brilliant reaction (but I wished you'd split it in 2 parts and made the total runtime longer)
Yeah, but if he was more sane (he isn't, whcih is why his nickname is The Mad Titan) he would've doubled the resources of the universe by 50%, and there would've been no need to destroy half the universe. #ThanosWasWrong lol
@@blueroninstudios Sure but abundance doesn't always solve poverty or suffering. There are resources in surplus on Earth right now and look at the state we're in. More people equals more problems. That's just nature.
@@blueroninstudios the problem does not necessarily come from resources and overpopulation... but from a "celestial"... how titan (eternals), a race originating from earth who have the knowledge and technology to leave a planet and recolonizing another could we have been annihilated? knowing the judgment of the celestials on a race that they consider counterproductive and unfit to survive, thanos is perhaps right to reduce each race in the universe by 2... to prevent a celestial from destroying (again) the entirety of a race (titan)...
It is interesting that everyone was willing to sacrifice the one they loved. Not just Thanos and Gamora, but Quinn pulled the trigger on Gamora and Wanda did destroy the stone.
love your reaction during the snap..loved when reactors felt what we had felt when we watched it in the theaters..the stun, the crying, the confusions..
"I am the only one who knows that... at least the only one with the will to act on it" That was his words (Thanos) about no one asked to do it. he saw the fate of the universe and his only goal would be to stop it whatever the cost. if you notice, he was suprised after the snap that he is alive, because he thought that this much power to do something like this, it would killed him , and he was ok with that. he doesnt care about sucrificing anyone inclunding himself . "Strongest actions require the strongest wills" meaning that he was prepared to do anything for the salvation of the universe. only Quil was dedicated to sacrifice a loved one to stop him, thats why he said ,i like him, to Gamora.
Thanos told Strange that he expected to win and then rest and have everyone be grateful to him. He said, "I'd finally rest and watch the sun rise on a grateful universe." He expected to survive. He was surprised to find himself inside the Soul Stone after the Snap. He didn't know what to expect once he used the Gauntlet. He had never done it before.
@@Stogie2112 he respond that way in case he survived but he couldnt know. and he said "rest" we all know what that is ( i try to avoid spoiler) meaning. so yes and no. if you see his face after the soul stone trip you will see that he is kinda lost he seems suprised that he is still alive.
@@Stogie2112That’s because he can’t see past any choice because he doesn’t truly understand them. To him, free will is an illusion and choices are variables in the equation. One by one each of them must be solved and countered. That’s his purpose as the conqueror; to balance the equation.
Loki isn't Asgardian, he was just raised there. Loki is the son of Laufey the Frost Giant from Jotunheim which makes him a Jotun. Loki's full name is Loki Laufeyson just as Thor's is Thor Odinson. 😂 R.I.P. Heimdall, R.I.P. Loki 🪦 Corvus Glaive's weapon can cut through anything even phasing synthezoids. 😮 Steve and Natasha changed their appearances because they are fugitives due to violating the Sekovia Accords. 😢 Knowhere is made out of a Celestial's head. The idea Thanos has is severely flawed, but it's just a movie. If you cut the population of Earth in half, we'd just be reset to the 1970s. A man named Malthus who lived in the era of the French Revolution claimed that there was no way the Earth could support 1 billion individuals, which was the population in his day, and he predicted the logical outcome was that mankind would starve. Instead, the population increased 8x over the next 200 years, and food and other resources are more abundant today than ever before. So it's ironic that Thanos would be killing half the universe, but only sending us back to the 1970s, which is when he first appeared in comic books.
Uhhh pretty sure when Thanos snapped it not only affected mankind but the rest of the animals who also inhabit the earth, i reckon the snap would potentially be an issue if it affected endangered species or if it wiped out species that are crucial to ecosystems.
@@Mannyhdz0052 It would be really weird for Thanos to kill half of all animals, since they're part of what overpopulation is destroying. Likewise, he shouldn't be killing half of all plants. But if he kills "half of all life," then sure, species that were already brought to the brink of extinction would be basically thrown off the cliff, Thanos-style. But it's a movie. Don't think about it too much, just allow yourself to be entertained.
@@teddyj5187 Are you referring to the birth rate? Well, I guess we'd find out if expensive housing is really the issue, because there'd be some empty houses after.
@@SG-js2qnWhat’s even worse for his downfall is that while we may not be able to see beyond our own choices, Thanos can’t see past any choice at all. The moment his people are extinct, he doesn’t understand choices anymore. To him, choices are variables in the equation and one by one each variable must be solved and countered. That’s his ideology and purpose: To balance the equation.
Dr Strange looked at all the future possibilities and knew they had to lose before they could really overcome Thanos. This is Thanos’s movie,Endgame is the Avengers movie.
Saddest part of spider-mans death at the end of this, is his spiders sense made him fully aware of what was coming. Someone that young sensing his death coming, teagic.
At the time this movie was in theaters I was running around Vegas each morning line-shopping for a sports betting system. After getting my bets in I had nothing to do in the afternoons before starting collections in the evenings so I would just to go see Infinity War again. Like every other day. I literally saw this movie 15 times in the theater at The Orleans. There probably were not many people in America who saw this movie in the theater more than I did. Admittedly, I was in it for the movie theater popcorn to a certain extent but I could have chosen other movies to see and did not. Just kept seeing Infinity War over and over again. My favorite movie ever at least in Super Hero genre. Better than Endgame too. That's right I said it.
Tony: No, this is where you ZIP IT, alright?!, the adult is talking! What if somebody had died tonight? Different story, right?, ‘cause that's on *you*. And if you died, I feel like that's on me. I don't need that on my conscience. Peter: Yes, sir, I- Tony: Yes. Peter: I'm sorry. I’m sorry. Tony: "Sorry" doesn't cut it.
He coulda just made more resources for the population. He did it to impress Mistress Death cuz he's in love with her. But that's the comics version lol
seeing this in theatre was amazing. best watch ever. I u get the chance watch the videos of theatre reactions of this and Endgame. its a good representaion of what everyone there felt.
30:56 gamora is the biological daughter of thanos (thanos knew he was going to die, and gamora had to succeed him on the throne to continue his quest to preserve the universe)... red skull says it when they arrive on vormir (thanos, son of alars... gamora, daughter of thanos).. the curse of red skull is to give the name of the real parents (not adoptive). thanos is at war with celetes. he wants to prevent another race in the universe from suffering the same thing as Titan (complete annihilation by the judgment of a celestial). the titans (eternals) originate from the earth, they have the knowledge and the technology to leave a planet and recolonize a new one if it is no longer able to provide for their needs... they did not die by a shortage, but by the judgment of a celestial who considered the titans as counterproductive and unfit to survive... (MCU version) dr strange a vue 14.00.604 identical parallel reality where half of each race in the universe is sent to the dimension beyond... why point out that only one is different...?
Spoiler owl? (I mead it says that she's already seen it on patreon but whatever) It's not like marvel was going to just stoo like 6 different franchise)
Hi Evie, great to see you!😊You look lovely as always! I think somebody is pleased with Captain America's new appearance.❤ I watched this in theaters and it was excruciating to have to wait a whole year for "End Game" to come out in theaters, after this ending. I believe there is one more end credit to watch, if you haven't seen it yet, Evie. Great emotional reactions to this very difficult ending to a film!!!!🎬👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Yes, in Thanos's mind he is the good guy saving the universe by killing half of it. The only one with the will and ability to get the stones and strong enough to use them. He just came to Earth to get the stones, he didn't want to move there.
This and Endgame kick so much ass it’s hard to describe. All my life I loved these characters and the movies almost ALWAYS disappointed. It was always the same movie - good guy gets powers along with a bad guy with mirror powers who dies at the end. Then the MCU came. And got better and better for 11 straight years. Just… unreal run. Home run ending.
Banner and Tony didn't even make Vision.. they "didn't think of it" because they're literally not the ones who built it lol.. Ultron made Vision.. Banner and Tony tried to put Jarvis into it, and even then it didn't go how they wanted, and Thor sparked Vision to "life"..
His central factual flaw being that starvation is not due to lack of resources but mis-allocation and mis-use of resources. Case in point- War in Ukraine disrupting one of the Earth's great agricultural breadbaskets and America using 40% of it's corn crop to make ethanol for our gas tanks instead of feeding the world with it. The half of humans that remain after the snap will still find a way to have war, waste, and starvation even with a much better resource per capita ratio.
In the comics Thanos does the same thing but for a very diffrent reason. He's in love with Lady Death (yes in Marvel Death is female) and to impress her he assembles the gauntlet and kills half the universe. She's not that impressed.
I still doesn't understand the theory can someone explain- "If each & every stone represents the essential aspect of life",if the stones are destroyed then the timeline will doesn't split? & can cause multiple concussions to the reality/time flow according to marvel universe?🤨
They still technically exist to do their job. They are just "reduced to atoms". Just because they can't be used by people doesn't mean they aren't still there.
The Stones do not contain the Six Aspects of the Universe. They are conduits. They provide access to the immense power of the Six Aspects. It's why very few beings can hold or use them. The Stones transmit near infinite power through the holder. If the Stones are destroyed, the Forces of the Universe continue, but no one can fully access them anymore.
