Didn't grow up an Avengers fan but I finally read the Kree-Skrull War about two years ago and really enjoyed it. It was definitely a product of its time but still a lot of fun. I don't have any early Avengers omnis but they're certainly on my someday list. Great review as always, Omar.
I've taken this opportunity to order all 4 Avengers reprints along with v5. I enjoy the classic Marvel era from the 60 to the 90s. I wonder if The Crossing will ever be reprinted!
These reviews are great and are getting me excited for vol 5. I must admit I like the old spines with the larger font titles. Not sure why they went so small.
I have the original printing, but all the other volumes I own (or about to own) have the updated covers, so why not get this one to match it? This is a great volume, prime Avengers, great John and Buscema art, plus early BWS. Nothing but positive things to say about this volume.
I’ve got all of the first 3 omnibus in Marvel Masterworks and I’ve ordered vol 4 in omnibus to continue the run but I’m still feeling FOMO by not ordering these first 3 new volumes
A great run (in my opinion) is the Steve Englehart run. He started with 105 and went up until 150 and plotted 151 and 152, with some fill-ins here and there. But if it’s not your thing, I respect your opinion.
