Thanks for the overview Omar. This era of the Avengers occurred when I first started reading Marvel comics. Obviously I have a huge adoration for some of these stories as melancholy reminded me of how great they were. The only regret I have was assigning Bob Brown to the magazine during the Avengers/Defenders conflict. With Sal B. drawing the Defenders issues, personally I would have loved it if Marvel would have had Sal's brother draw the Avengers issues of the war.
Can’t wait for this to arrive! I’ve read half of these stories and they’re great as long as you read it with the understanding of the time period in which you’re reading it. The Kree-Skrull War and the Avengers-Defenders War walked so that Secret Wars, Infinity Guantlet, Civil War, House of M, etc could run.
This is a definite day one pick up; classic run. does anyone know what the image on the spine of the Neil Adams cover is (direct market)? i can recognize the spine under the dust jacket from issue 100, which looks really cool (I'm assuming that will be on the Arthur Adams dust jacket).
This looks really good volume 4 and 5 are must buys for me. I also have volume 2. I bought cause I saw a good sale. I wanted to thank you For your amazing review of Batman adventures, I bought it a few days after release and I see that it sold out in a week on the online seller sites. Glad I got this before the price doubled.
When this was submitted i declined to pre-order. Now seeing the review i am asking ..... is itvworth upgrading my original dm to the new printing just for the spine. Othrr than that this is an era of the avengers i know about but have not read other than the kree skrull war back in the 80'. Nice overview as usual, just wish i could read as quickly as omar does 😊
