When I was in college I really got into the Avett Brothers. This was always my favorite song of theirs. I had periods of anxiety and depression where I felt really alone in college. Would drive around at night by myself hoping for the day I could be in love or have someone in my passenger seat. Years later I started dating my girlfriend. After 6 months I listened to this song again and it all clicked, as I had not put two and two together, without even knowing I asked her to be my girlfriend on February 7th. Makes this song even better, and what I have now meant to be. We have been together for 3 years.
My mom died last year feb 7th after I heard the news I bought a 6 pack and went home and put my head phones in and played pandora. This song came on... Lil back story this was my brother's favorite band he committed suicide in 2018 and no hard feelings was the song we played at his funeral. When this song came on the day my mom passed. I balled cause to me it was my brother saying he was there waiting for her and her telling me she was okay and with my brother. God. You guys are amazing it may be sad the reasons for why I love your music but you guys nailed it with those 2 songs for me and remembering very speacial people.
My li'l brother took his life this 7th day of February. He loved this band and I was just going through some of these songs and remembering him singing them. Then I saw the title of this one, never knew the name of it til now. Thank you for the beautiful music and memories. 💔
I always watch this on this day and I just saw this comment. I lost my little brother to suicide in 2019. I hope the music brings your soul some peace.
I'll never forget. Feb 7, 2020 I was fixin to post this song on my Facebook but I went downstairs to put in a load of laundry first. I fell down the stairs & broke my friggin leg! My husband did laundry for the next 6 wèeks. LoL!! And then there's the song Laundry Room :)
I leave awhile and then come back. They're always just as good if not better. The organic nature of their creations is almost downright scary. I love these guys.

This song and “I and Love and You” were two big favorites of my mother. She passed away on February 12th, and this song and the other I mentioned put a smile on my face knowing that she’s now resting in peace, and is no longer in pain, but is now happy once again.... God bless you mom.... I miss you, but I get to keep those good memories going through songs, and photographs.....
Joe, I hope you have found that it does get easier with the passing of time. It's 4 years for me and I still have moments when I have the urge to call her, and then I remember that I can't and it feels like losing her all over again. Music is the only medicine I know that helps a broken heart.
This song is so amazing. I am in recovery for alcoholism and currently have 16 months sober. This song relates to my struggles with alcohol in so many ways. Thatnk you guys for writing the theme song to the past 15 years of my life.
Still going strong, June 21st will be 6 years alcohol free. My worst day sober is better than my best day drinking. I can say without a doubt, a 12 step program will help with any issues you have in life. Thank you guys for the kind words, support comes from the least expected places!! 💪🤝

Thanks guys..this one hits my heart as my son David. Died on Feb 6 ..this one's reminds me of his funside..and he was going thru some troubled times at home! I love how this video kind of makes them look scruffy and sort of rough...but then the song is gentle and sweet. I love them so much because they're not ONE genre. They're rock, country, roots rock, bluegrass-y, gospel...they cover all bases and all genres, can find a way to touch every heart. If people listen, they will find something they like, guaranteed.

This song means the world to me - 8 years ago I started changing my whole life on February 7, with great success, only to have my world turned upside down a few months later by a medical diagnosis. Slowly but surely I am making my way back all these years later, and every year on this day I play this song repeatedly to remind myself of my journey.

This song was perfect to include in my wedding because it describes so perfectly how me and my husband were before we met and then how life broke in and brought us to our feet in so many ways! I played this for my half brother and step brother who are 20 and 22 years younger than I. It was my response to a discussion about meaningful music, and I, a GenX music snob who knows everything, am hearing these youngsters talk about matters of taste, or popularity. Then I said, let's make it real. They threw up a couple of decent examples, and I threw up this. They listened in silence to the end and took a minute after to 'return'. One said, 'Damn, I don't have to say that we all felt that.' and the other said 'That was powerful. Real powerful.' This song tells a personal story for me, but it is a masterpiece of the craft.
Love this song. The Avett Brothers bring a new level to music. Living in the hood and hearing constant booming rap is a drag. Their music soothes my soul.

Came out of an emotionally\mentally abusive relationship and met a wonderful woman while I was still trying to recover and break the trauma bond. She hung in there, counseled me, kept me at a safe distance and played this song for me when she felt I was healthy again. She said it was me. God is good and wants the best for us.
Wow what an unbelievable song. I gave up on God a while to much had happened and the cloud over me never left. Migraines 20-25 days a month for 14 years straight I’ve pretty much lost everything important because I’ve been hiding from everything and everyone because I thought I deserved the pain. This is the first time ive ever heard this song. I was in my bedroom in a pitch black room miserable from a migraine I was sulking typed in the one song I did no from these guys I and love and you and had a razor pushing up against my wrist for probably a minute contemplating if I had the courage to follow through. In the 13-14 years it’s the first time I’ve ever contemplated that scenario. Yes I’ve lived recklessly with a small hope to just let go but today sitting at the edge of my bed this was the first time. And then this song happened. Not the same but pretty similar idea and then I felt something different…. That’s all I know so far because it just happened and I’m not 100% sure what the difference is. I did turn the lights on in my room and the migraine has sort of faded away or maybe I’m not thinking about it as much, but the razor is in the trash I’m off the bed with the feeling that maybe that was the sign I needed and a small fragment of hope has hit me like the opposite pain pill rushing through your body numbing you instead I feel again.

From N.C. and huge James Taylor fan since I listened to his greatest hits cassette every night in my Sony Walkman in US Navy barracks awaiting training in 1980s before I was deployed to the Persian Gulf and later disabled in Operation Desert Storm. These guys are every bit as talented and captivating and have a similarly unique (love a good oxymoron) folksy sound. Really enjoying this more produced song for them which is quite Beatlesesque compared with anything else they’ve published on RU-vid...JT was discovered by Beatles manager Peter Asher and signed to Apple records, maybe it’s a nod to fellow N Carolinian and his former Beatles association? Huge Avett Bros fan since I first saw Seth channeling Longhorne Slim ad libbing “Lord” in 2008. Most young artists on RU-vid (I realize they’ve been around over ten years now) have a couple good songs and rest are unmotivating. No one can say that about these guys, everything they do is amazing, from their haunting (yes, I said it) lyrics, to their vocal harmonies, to their different/off setting octave guitar and banjo harmonies, to their vocal switching. Would love to see them live and can’t wait to see where their talent leads!!

I first heard of the Avett Brothers two or three weeks ago and they are now my favorite band. I play mainly guitar, banjo, and mandolin, and as a freshman in high school your band has given me so much inspiration in my own music.
