Charlene and Freddie Avila, along with their five young children, teetered on the edge of survival for eleven years, but when Freddie lost his job, that was the final straw. "It took us about three and a half months to go through our savings," Freddie recalls , and the family ended up homeless. Thanks to permanent supportive housing, this family is back on their feet and working toward their goal of owning their own home.
