I'm really surprised, that this rifle is rarely ever covered by Guntubers. I don't really know the reason, but I'm happy YOU guys finally talk about it. I've only seen 1 other Guntuber make a proper ultimate battle-rifle showdown; I hope it will come out soon.
BT is a much smoother shooting gun. Big man really needs to use all of the stock though. He's leaving a lot on the table in terms of controlling recoil.
Agreed, gotta hold that baby back into your shoulder like youre lovin it good. I'm only 6'0" 195lbs and I shoot my .308 AK with more control than that, and that bolt comes back with more violence than either of these. He'll get there with more practice.
Mag compatibility alone makes me lean towards the B&T. Looks like a mix of a Scar and ACR. MLOK is nice. I like the folding charging handle. Hydraulic buffer seems great. Overall it just seems like a more modern gun. The price of the scar should have gone way down over the years imo. It hasn’t been drastically updated.
The SCAR is literally an aluminum extrusion machined to finish with a polymer lower that destroys optics. It DEFINITELY should be cheaper. Like, significantly cheaper. The manufacturing techniques alone are notoriously inexpensive to those in the know. They make a MASSIVE profit from every SCAR sold.
@@armorers_wrenchexactly. If PSA can make the JAKL for 1300 with significantly more modern features, and still carve out enough profit to expand the line. FN is Glock but with rifles. The scar always should have used the LR308/ar10 mags. And had an adjustable gas block. But no. FN waits 20 years to add those features.
@@armorers_wrenchthat’s not really true.. they had to spend nearly $20 million just on the development of the scar, THEN they had to purchase all of the machinery for it and put it into production. The JAKL and the Scar are only compared because they look similar. They’re totally different weapons with totally different operating systems. A more apt comparison to the Scar would be a g36, the Spear, they’re all ar18 clones with different bodywork. The Jakl is a great platform, but until it’s carried for combat by over 20 nations and ran through military trials, they can’t be compared in anything but looks.
With all the 308 rifles I've seen on this channel, I'd love to see a contest on who can get the tightest groupings at 300 yards and beyond distances. I'd love to see the Scar vs the APC308 vs the Zastava M70 (Get Matt for this), vs the Ruger SFAR, etc...
I think the scar17 is superior, I was thinking about buying a b&t 308 until I called their customer service and found out it doesn't have a chrome lined bore and they said it wouldn't cycle steel cased ammo and both of those are a deal breaker. I do like the aluminum lower and the fact that it takes ar10 mags.
Can’t rip it to anything but full extension. Takes two hands to adjust it otherwise. I five B&T’s, two with MBT stocks. B&T really botched the design of them - it should be much more than it is.
when fully extend, you can push the buttons with your left hand and push the stock in with your right shoulder to the length you want with the bt stock@@tedbaxter5234
Having both, the B&T shoots a lot smoother and has become my favorite of the two. Major con though is that B&T has practically zero aftermarket which means you cannot tune it as well as the scar when suppressed. I can get my SCAR to eject at 3' but the B&T is stuck at 1:30'. I am waiting the form4 for my flow762 which I feel will resolve the B&T's suppression issue making it softer in both suppressed and unsuppressed.
I LOVE my apc 223 and apc 9! They are so soft it’s crazy alittle on the heavy side, but that 223 is wild soft!!! You guys should really do a video on it next!. I typically run my apc 223 on the middle setting and that softens the impulse up alittle more yet, fantastic guns worth every penny!
The APC308 is definitely the softer shooting of the guns unsuppressed. But I would argue though the SCAR wins in the suppression side as the APC has zero aftermarket gas adjustments. I can tune my scars recoil to be a lovely 3 o'clock ejecting experience, but my APC is stuck at 1:30 forever.
The APC charging handle was unintentionally moving during firing and could cause a failure. Change your SCAR gas jet to a .30 jet ($5 part & a screwdriver to change) & enjoy your SCAR. Get rid of that damn A2 also, right Clint 😂.
Every once in a while the charging handle assembly will bounce around alittle, but it absolutely will not cause a malfunction, both of my APC’s have never had a malfunction, in thousands of rounds even with the occasionally charging handle bounce.
It takes AR15 drop in triggers, take out one spring for the safety selector to make it super smooth and after vigorous testing i added a M11 brake and that reduced the recoil to nearly zero.
@63xMortis I have both optic setups. I never likely need to go past a 6x. 3x magnifier w/ red dot is effective enough for anyone tbh and lighter than an lpvo
The SCAR comes with a muzzle brake that eliminates a lot of the recoil felt. I noticed you took off that break. That might have something to do with the fact that it recoils more now….
But have you noticed, you compare EVERYTHING to the SCAR17? Which means you are admitting it's the best rifle out there and the benchmark to judge all 308 semi-auto
@user-jv4ic8rh4d point of reference. I don't think Rolex ever made the best watch in the world. Personally, I also don't think tesla makes the best electric car in the world, but they both have great recognition and are good products. Sometimes, reference is what most people know or have access to. In Russia, the AK-47 is probably their reference rifle, here in the US AR15, in Germany something different. Sometimes, just being first makes you the standard and reference. Sometimes marketing gives you those.
You're not stuck with SCAR Mags, you can swap the lower out to an XProducts lower and use all the AR-10 mags. not really cheap though. Mine was about 300$.
B&T for me. I'm not a big fan of the scar proprietary mag system. That should be the next upgrade is to fix that plus I'm not a fan of the Polymer lower on the scar
Yall really should have done this by making them share the same parts and leaving the correct brake on the end of the scar. It makes a NOTICEABLE difference. Other than that, I prefer the manual of arms on the B&T. They understand that there is no excuse that any gun from 2011+ doesn't have mirrored controls. At this point, it's lazy no to.
the standard brake on the scar is a gimmick piece though. its better to compare two flash hiders than a flash hider and a muzzle brake. Also the manual of arms is basically the same on the B&T
I believe that is actually the 16” version of the B&T. It used to be 14.3” and imported as a pistol due to import restrictions. The newer versions like that are sold as a rifle hence the 16” barrel. The shorter version of that current rifle has a 13” barrel and is sold only as a pistol. So I believe you are in fact shooting a 16” barrel gun…..
To me it looked like the scar was all over the place and the B&T look so much smoother. But considering the price for both I'll never be able to afford one😢
I am curious about accuracy between the two. I have seen 3/4 inch groups, at 100yrds, with the SCAR…… my buddy has several B&T rifles that shoot 3moa. They are built well, but built for combat accuracy.
I'm in the market for a battle rifle and I can't seem to make a decision between SCAR, HK mr762, Spear or maybe even a NEMO or Noveske. This B&T brings even more to the table. Any thoughts? What would y'all go with in a 3-5 grand range?
Call each company to see how customer service is, tell them your calling each company to see which is best, they should go into depth on why you should choose them. Also check accessories compatibility and support. Cz bren has a 308 and has good reviews, I love my 556 11"
It’s pretty obvious Jason has a gun he spent a lot of money on and doesn’t want to just accept the knock off (a very nice knock off) as superior. I get it.
I would like to see these two conduct a 10 shot battle at various distances with these rifles may have to call in other hosts to help Zastava M77, Springfield M1A/ M14/ M1 Garand, PTR 91, AR 10, Galil ACE 2 308,
Both are sweet but once u upgrade the scar with a scarburator gas system and PMM upgrades, trust me it competes with that gun or better. Its costly but not if u just get the kns gas system or scarburaor gas system.
Best video yet wow great content and friendship the world needs to take notice. The world 🌎 seems to be upside down I come here to relax.thank you for all the hard work you all put into making a 👍 👌 great video.
