I absolutely adore the characterisations you have made with the yellow hazmat men, they're simultaneously wholesome and yet oddly sociopathic at the same time. They act almost child-like and yet weirdly ruthless in the face of threats. It really adds to the surreal atmosphere that the Backrooms create, please keep them coming!
What's eerie to me is about 17 years ago, before smartphones were a thing, I remember having a dream when I was still in middle school that was so vivid that I committed it to memory when I woke up that morning. Parts of it are very reminiscent of the Backrooms, including the poolrooms and the clean-picked grocery store here.
about ten years ago on a college trip to New York, a group of friends and I no joke entered a real weird af 'backroom' in a hotel. We all got in an elevator, saw there was a button which said - 1 and decided to see where it went. The elevator went down and the doors opened on this whole abandoned space. It was sort of like an old office or school. Creepy as hell! We looked around for a while, heard a fucking weird noise and ran out to an exit. No joke, I feel like backrooms do exist.
I like the mix of fear and wholesome vibes I get from watching these. This is a great series and I love these little yellow suited rascals. Since we didn't really see anyone die I chose to believe most of them made it out ok.
The work you're doin here is insanely high quality. I've never had any interest in the backrooms before finding your channel, but just the overall quality of the writing and directing in this sitcom format is insanely good. Please keep making these, like many have said I can easily see this being a multi-season anthology style show about scientists exploring the backrooms.
My head is spinning. Are you telling me these videos aren’t made by the game developer? I thought all of these were like videos or cutscenes. Very high quality and professionally done.
@@PotatoPatatoVonSpudsworth I think that's a bit too much of a stretch. It's very clear that it is super easy to die in the Backrooms, with all the entities, death traps, and anomalous events in all the different levels. I highly doubt that anyone would find "Dying" to be a challenge in the Backrooms.
@@BrimCopper we literally see dead people in the backrooms all the time. and how do you know all those entities used to be people? is there proof of that? no. The only entities that are confirmed that they used to be humans are Wretches. and Partygoers while they can turn people into Partygoers, the species itself did not start off as humans. So that alone debunks that entire theory. Besides, how are you gonna look at something like a Death Moth, Bone Theif, or Dollface and think to yourself. "Yup that was once a human being" like no. Just no. Theories do NOT equal Fact, my guy.
@@PotatoPatatoVonSpudsworth My theory is that you just cannot die, and when you end up in a situation where the character most dies they respawn at some other level in the backrooms, and an entity appears in their place.

I love how the sound of the beast is almost like a meme sound. Adds to the eerie distorted nostalgia of liminal spaces and memes of childhood. Maybe that's just me though.
Adult swim can't really do humor anymore so no let's keep anything good away from anything to do with Hollywood they turn everything they touch into garbage
I got it! Their backstory! I mean one, that explains why they're so desensitized and funny in this complex space of horror: They're clones. They are cloned humans that have no memory of their original person. They are placed there, without ever having been in the normal world, with only the DNA being a leftover of the host. Their task is pretty mundane: just record everything. They are told they need the suits for some reason. The reason why they want the clones there is because people are sometimes haunted or dragged into this space like in the original backroom story. The guy from the elevator that just glitched into this space between worlds. Well, some people have found a stable entrance into the backrooms, but they would never actually enter it themselves (some tried but never returned) nor can they predict why some people get dragged in there sometimes through one of the infinite entrances. So since it is still a real danger to society (which is kept a secret by the government, only rumors have escaped), the government decided to send these clones in there, so they can record everything, so that maybe they can find out more about this strange place. The truth is though that after a short time, it was found that no real answer could be found and recording stuff is pretty pointless. They completely gave up on further investigations, but they never stopped the program, so the clones keep being produced and sent in there, with no purpose at all. The clones don't know about anything. Their lives are completely expendable. For them this is their reality and they have accepted it as such. It is just their daily business and their only task is to keep recording things, without knowing why. And they never question it, they just keep doing stuff like in these clips. They have lost all sense of fear, only annoyance of death is left.
I thino one of the entities cant handle flames i remember seeing a video a hazmat suit person brew something and he threw it at the entity burning it to ashes literally no joke if flames can do that much what about a rpg?
Backrooms always intrigues me... i think it has something to do with an experience from my childhood. There was a basement in a house i went into where it was parted out into well lit , featureless, empty rooms with florescent ceiling tile lights in each room and one room connected to another room just like it.
So much humor and high quality visuals as usual but additionally this time this one was so tense! I was stuck, squeezing my fork at the edge of my kitchen chair. Ditto what with the first few comments. This is some top shelf stuff.
This is just wholesome. The hazmat men are pretty dang laid back and just try to enjoy a game of hide and seek. The place they’re at seems to be some small shopping mall with empty shelves everywhere. Such a good video, I really enjoyed it.
Really enjoy the renders, they look amazing. My only critique is that the running for them feels like a walk? When he was running from the entity it really seemed like he was slowly walking. Other than that really enjoyable to watch!
wow, like a typical occupied store or like this store is corrupt or something clearly happened in this store that even that's why I still didn't like being in Backrooms and that's why I didn't want to be in Backrooms, that's the essence of why I didn't want to play anyway into a game about Backrooms that even I just watch videos about Backrooms, did I have to do this? because everyone did his own and I did mine? Or am I just saying something wrong? I just decided to talk about all sorts of topics as if I wanted to do this thing, like talking in the comments because I'm bored, you see? 0:15
i love the little details bro, like how the monster was peeking at him throuhg the mirror at 2:16 , its a quick and easily unnoticed detail, good job bro keep this up
This series gives me major red vs blue vibes, like early season to freelancer arc. They act childish but serious when the time need be. This is a complete complement as I love rvb keep it coming fam!
The characteristics are spot on and you almost feel like they’ve lost the will to live and are not scared of anything. All in all, great video please keep them coming
great footage found in the backrooms! it is interesting to see that people are living mostly normal live in the backrooms. of course there are dangers such as obungas but My take: The slides are a test. The guy who took the red chose to save himself over everyone else who would've noclipped, and was punished with death for being selfish. Meanwhile, the guy who took the blue slide showed he would've died to save everyone who would've entered by destroying the Backrooms, and thus got to go back to reality.
Backrooms: A massive expanse of endless rooms with potentially lethal entities as well as mold that can kill you. HazmatGuy: "Wanna play hide and seek?"
I love this! In the sequence of running I wish there was sharper camera movement from time to time or maybe a bit of heavy breathing at one moment to add to the tension of having to run with a big suit, but otherwise really really enjoyable!! I'll be binge watching all your channel now hehe. Thank you for your videos, they look really really difficult and long to make!
I find the Backrooms concept far more interesting without monsters. Without monsters, the Backrooms is a mix of curiousity, wonder, and some degree of existential horror: a little or a lot depending on how desperate for an exit one is. But with monsters, it's just a plain old monster chase horror movie where people get picked off one by one. Instead of a focus on the exploration of weird, unnatural environments, it's just a familiar monster chase horror movie on a big set. This video could have almost been a monster movie at a regular shopping mall. Hiding from monsters really slows down the exploration. But I do like these Hazmat guys and it's interesting how they don't seem emotionally affected by what happens to them or their comrades. They're simple creatures, like insects. They don't seem to have a concept of horror. One could wonder where they came from and what sustains them, but really they're as much part of the backrooms as their environments. They're just timeless and apparently just appear out of thin air. They're not really people. But it's fun to imagine that they have cities, towns, and trading posts across the backrooms. Maybe some levels they've taken over and turned into Hazmat fortresses where they can take a break from exploring, getting killed, and checking things off of their checklist. They don't seem to be human, but humans would certainly make little refuges along the way. I imagine many people would eventually give up looking for a way out and just settle in some places that seem defensible and are rich in resources.
I find it more interesting with 'Monsters' so long as the 'monsters' derive from being more incomprehensible to understand rather than just some reskin of a zombie.
@@WitchKing-Of-Angmar Exactly! I like unique monsters that cause you to question your sanity. Monsters that dive deep into your psyche and cause you to fear them because there might be far worse fates than death with them.
Nice vid man the roars send chills down my spine also the way he said "mission acomplished" after he pushed his friend in the void was funny then he was gansta until the monster gave him karma "mission not quite accomplished"
THIS IS an EXACT representation of what my dreams are like. Playing hide in seek with the boys in a random empty store hiding in the most random places
