I mentioned this to Sean from Blade Mate before but not sure if I suggested to you before... Try to see if you can get like a mini attachable umbrella for your cameras to get them a little bit of shade. Also, there are these little USB coolers that are attachable to cameras and phones. There are a plethora of price points and name brands and I got one for my phone if I go hiking in the summertime. It just clips on to the back of my phone and was something like $15 USD and pretty much is a heatsink. I love the transformation and really like the neighbors stopping by. Stay hydrated and keep up the great work!

@@timthelawnmowerman Most tripods have a hook under the middle shaft to hang a weight from which could help with that. A weigt at a low height moves the centre of gravity lower and makes it harder to push over. I recall you had a medium sized umbrella the last time I saw it a year or so back, but they also make little 20cm ones just for cameras too. Whether that would do enough in your scorching sun is another matter tho. And to touch on the fans mentioned earlier there are also battery mods for gopro style cameras that replace the battery with a unit with a fan in it then you run it all on external power. Never tried it to know personally. Are you GoPro or DJI btw? just curious.

That Masport mower is one of your go-to tools for thick grass. Seems to have a rather massive engine for a walk-behind. Can you elabourate on the horsepower or what kind of engine? It really plows through the thick stuff.

Excellent work in the heat. Did you give up on your camera parasol because it kept blowing the tripod over? I wonder if you could cut some thin white plastic to fit over the camera like an arch to reflect the sun but not catch the wind. Mount it between the top of the tripod and the bottom of the camera, then arch it over the top. Might have to experiment to find the optimum size and shape. Apologies from a problem solving jury-rigger.

They do make small 20cm sized umbrellas for cameras. Whether that helps in the Aussie sun I'm not sure.

Kikuyu. Originally from Africa named after the Kikuyu tribe from that region. Imported deliberately to Australia and New Zealand. In my case in NZ it was to hold the sand dunes together to prevent errosion - it did that quickly then conquered the rest of the country while it was at it. Grows both over ground as you see, but also underground with runners that spread out making it hard to hurt but also self repairing. We use it for football fields and public berms for those reasons. But as you see it will also try to eat the path, driveway, house if you let it go long enough.

Beautiful, Tim! What a difference! Funny that the area to the right of the driveway as you look at the house from the road was left to get REALLY overgrown. I wonder why. It's a nice looking little house, and as you say, not a big front yard. I hope it can be maintained in the future. Having everything edged up properly made a massive difference too. I feel for you tackling that backyard but it will be awesome to watch. Take your time and stay well hydrated in that heat!

The way you break up the work holds the attention of the viewers as-well. This is one of the things i like best about your videos. I don't get bored watching 10 minutes of someone edging a lawn. Instead you have 2 minutes of each part 4 or 5 times. The very fact of your attention to the details and the finished product that you come up with is also great.

Good tip, Tim. Chunking large tasks into smaller ones is an MH method for those who overthink and procrastinate if a task looks too large. Piece by piece gives a feeling of satisfaction, as you rightly said. Great job again, and a good one to watch as the year begins, hopefully, paying it forward will catch on more. I do free strims along my elderly neighbour's boundary wall. A case of if I'm doing mine, what does another half hour cost apart from time?

@@creamwobbly- Itda never been about him doing it for free and he has never claimed to do that. But the person whose yard it is gets it for free. THEY do not pay to have the yard done hence free mow Friday. Tim has always stated it's a win win win situation. 1) Person gets their yard tidied at no cost to them. 2) Viewers get content to watch. 3) He gets money for views so that he can continue to offer his skills to people in need. That payment as he has become more popular comes in the form of payment from RU-vid, etc as well as sponsorship and companies who provide him with equipment that allows him to tackle trickier stuff or makes the job a tad easier and the company gets exposure. Is he now making shit loads of money? Yeah! But he's working damn hard and giving back to his community so as far as I'm concerned he deserves all the material gain from this. Not to mention he will need a good best egg for in the future when all of this back breaking work takes it's toll on his body.

Stunning makeover. Like others have said, to see a job broken down into approachable segments by you makes so much more sense and isn’t so overbearing. I’ve stopped following a couple of US based guys this year - mainly because you, Sean and George set such a high bar. Not only do you tackle ridiculous grasses but you edge and best of all take all the trimmings with you. The fact that you have a full time job on top of this is incredible. 😊.

Dang Bro! Your grass in “Aussie” is way different than grass here in Virginia, US. So darn thick at the roots! Reminds me of cutting and weeding Bermuda grass. Anyway-this job was a doozy! I attack an overgrown yard the same way small bits at a time. Even if the back yard is large it feels good doing smaller squares untill it is all done.

Do you ever write down the addresses and go back and check up on their yard? Seems the most overgrown yards may be people who desperately need the help due to old age, illness or financial issues. I would love to see videos of you revisiting to see if they can maintain their yard or need another helping hand. You do such a great job and are so kind! Keep up the excellent work! ♥
