Up to 80% of all infections are transmitted by hands, according to estimates by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. We did a little experiment to visualise just how much bacteria we pick up daily. Explore our interactive special: cna.asia/2HRcrK3

Shocking how many nasty people are out there. Our waiter on a cruise went to the restroom (#2), left the stall, and did not even think about washing his paws. Yes, we complained to the maitre d'- it turned into a big deal.

does anyone know what that gel-like material is? I need it for a science fair project and all the videos I watched about this used this material thingy!

It's called agar, and the container is called an agar plate. Good luck with the project, if it's yet to happen.

Video was a disappointment. I thought they were going to break down the numbers? You know the Science behind it all. ACTUAL SCIENCE !

Is this under a micro scope or is it just showing us bacteria forming from a non sanitized hand I’m confused the how do you get to grow bacteria like that on a giant Petri dish
@youwontknowme2518
@youwontknowme2518 Год назад
bacteria live in colonies! the blooming circles you see consist of millions of them so it's possible to observe the whole community they got there with naked eye! but if you do want to see a bacteria (as in, one living organism) you'd have to look at it under a microscope. hope this helps!

Did you go to school. That is 3rd grade chemistry. Like the first experiment you do in the biology lab is growing bacteria in a Petri dish..some people just didn't catch on to things at school did they ! ! ! 😂😂

If you put bacteria in a petri dish, THEY MULTIPLY. This has nothing to do with how many were on your hands to begin with.

Clearly it does make a difference, since each test grew at a different rate. They were all over the course of three days

@@elizabethbetsy1 Washing your hands with soap and water only washes the bacteria away by removing slimy substances from your hands, but it doesn't actually kill the bacteria, it just removes some of them (some of them and not all)... Washing your hands with just water can actually multiply the bacteria in your hands because more moisture is all that bacteria need to multiply more rapidly... You have far far more bacteria living in your intestine ( inside your gut) than you have on your hands or any part of your skin... Most bacteria are harmless and some are beneficial (or even essential for our well-being)... Only a very small percentage of bacteria are pathogenic and can cause disease...
