Tom looks more lean and muscular than he did a few years ago. He looks outright terrifying. He seemed a bit out of shape a few years ago, where he looked to have low testosterone. He's clearly figured out his diet, and nutrition. He clearly changed something. There was an almond milk, soy agenda going around hard in the last 10 years, and I think people realized how toxic all those "health" foods are.
i think most punching machines work on a laser break system so its not necessarily the power the bag is hit with but the speed the bag moves, obviously more power more speed but there are a few variables. hope this makes sense
I've noticed that whenever you do these collaborations with super high-level athletes, they're always incredibly encouraging teachers. It makes me really happy.
Yeah, I noticed that too. I think these people are just sick of "for show" collabs and T-shows. It's more fun to just learn something and try to show people what you are good at. The same has been happening for musicians for quite a while, they show up youtube "interviews" with like 500 subs. Probably because they are not going to ask the same question they have answered 500 times already.
@@shadowedblight1673 it's not that. It's men who work out their bodies. Which releases so much amped stress and energy. World strongest men.. body builders.. heavy weight lifters.. mma fighters.. bjj/ wrestlers.. are all super chill. THEY DONT have to compensate for anything. They are confident
Clicked immediately and let me say, this did not disapppint. My favourite UFC fighter and my favourite climber. The mutual respect shown in this video was also very admirable.
19:40 One finger pull-up AND front lever, Magnus is really bringing out all the party tricks for Tom ;)
holy crap, Tom climbing like that right off the bat is crazy. Very athletic. And I liked your ferocity when you were training mma, haha. What a terrific video.
@paulwhitlock8881 bro, he's still a large, very athletic, borderline NFL-quality athlete. It's impressive no matter v2 or v4, because he doesn't climb.
@@yerfdoGnimajneB Jones is a paper champ at HW. Fought Gane for vacant belt after the champ left, did nothing ever since. Aspinall has fought 3 times since Jones last fought, and has defended the interim belt. Every other champ who couldn't defend the belt for a year has been stripped (Cruz, Mir, McGregor, Whittaker, Jiri etc). Tom hasn't repeatedly popped for roids either. We know who the champ is.
@@yerfdoGnimajneB technically, yes. But he is the actual HW champion. Jones keeps ducking him and there is no denying Tom is the best HW on the planet right now.
@@apollo5261you are 💯 percent right an all these fan boys that think Jones is unbeatable at HW are delusional. Tom has more than a good chance of beating him. Straight away end of discussion
I've seen Tom's videos where he kicks other youtubers, and your low percentage kicks definitely looked harder than them! And I think in return, Tom's low percentages were harder than normal too 😅
Fight fan here from the Tom Aspinall side of the algorithm. Just a few things you should know about Tom if you're not familiar. 1.) He's not just fast for a heavyweight, he's fast even compared to fighters in weight classes 80-90 lbs lighter. (It's also not just his feet that are quick, his boxing hand speed is jarringly fast, freakishly so in fact). 2.) He's currently technically just the interim champion cuz the actual champion is scared to fight him, and the UFC is doing him dirty. 3.) He's probably the nicest, most down to earth dude in combat sports, along with Stephen Thompson. 4.) In my opinion, 5 years from now he will be regarded as the greatest heavyweight MMA fighter of all time.
Great collab, Tom's a class act in MMA. I'm not surprised he's pretty adept at climbing, he's known as one of those most active, agile heavyweights, incredibly explosive.
You know what's awesome? The UFC has ignored Tom and Tom has been forced to become a RU-vid celebrity instead of a celebrated Heavyweight champion. He's going to become the biggest star in UFC history---because Dana ignored him. When Disney sells the UFC, they will actually start promoting Tom Aspinall instead of Adesanya and Jon Jones.
This is a dream cross over honestly, been a huge MMA fan for over 10 years now and been climbing nearly as long, you couldn't have picked a nicer guy to collab with Magnus, maybe Wonderboy or Arnold Allen haha, but Tom is a real champ and a fantastic role model, for his size his athleticism is crazy.
as a huge mma and climbing fan, having Jiri and Ondra collab and then magnus and Tom link up is seriously one of the most random, unexpected and delightful surprises of the 2020’s 😂😂
So cool! I feel like there's a lot of overlap for some reason. A lot of my BJJ/MMA training partners are climbing now and some climbing buddies also train martial arts. I swear climbing regularly has helped with my grappling and vice versa.
If you close your eyes, Tom's got a very similar voice to Eddie Hall. Accent is slightly different, but basically the same as well. Awesome video as always!
Tom Aspinall is inventing a new "power kick" sport, where you see who taps out first from kicks to the thigh. It's awesome! It's actually more of a real sport than Power Slap.
Was very nice to see high level athletes teach the other their respective fields and see the other pick it up so quick. But the best part of this video for me was the conversations that were really real and honest.
Magnus has an insane ability to not just learn quickly but somewhat intuit the right technique for athletic movements of all sorts, even when they're way, way outside the realm of his own sports. Very impressive.
Huge respect to both men. Magnus brings a unique combination of world class skills, competitiveness, humor and Norwegian understatement that pushes these collabs into the stratosphere
Magnus has to be one of the strongest pound for pound natural Humans in the history of Earth. His grip strength, and doing pull-ups with one finger, is unheard of. There's not a bodybuilder in history that can do one finger pull-ups.
These crossovers with other athletes are always amazing content, especially when they come from completely different sports. Can't wait for the next one.
@@shhea Just tired of Americans thinking that every accent in the UK is an English accent, posh or otherwise. There are hundreds of regional accents across the UK split into entirely different countries of course, haha.
@@thitherword I assume you mean counties but yeh. Ha. We all know most yanks don't have a clue what's going on outside if their country, ain't no surprise there!
Tom is consistently nice in these kinds of videos. I'd absolutely LOVE someone like him as a teacher for anything as a matter of fact.. What a great lad
Wow they are so much more similar than I expected. It’s so rare to see people who top their craft in one area but still have the energy to just explore. They don’t love climbing or fighting-deeply down what they love is sport, in all its forms.
A series of these two guys gradually learning each others sport would be amazing. Both incredibly humble, talented, and willing to learn and experience new things.
@@TooChillery Demetrius Johnson is the goat, jones has failed too many drug tests. DJ aside, how many heavyweights has old bones finished in the first round to make his belt “the real belt”
Love it, two masters of their craft giving full credit and respect to eachother. Both seem like very nice people. Tom is my hero at the moment for his character.
The way Tom casually explains his favourite way to knock people unconcious in a friendly tone is simultaneously endearingly candid and slightly terrifying haha
Having gone from climbing to BJJ the grip strength transfers really well cause it’s mostly about locking strength and endurance just like climbing. I think climbing would be an underrated activity for MMA training
elsket denne videoen Magnus, Tom Aspinall, aldri hørt om han, men dere virket som dere hadde så forståelse og respekt for hverandre, og hverandres verk, mer av dette!
Magnus, I got in to climbing and got addicted for some time and used to watch your videos. I since moved to BJJ and MMA and rarely climb anymore. Seeing you in a video with Tom was pure excitement when it popped on to my feed!
