Love it. Harvey Keitel is great - I was in the last row of a small plane flying to NYC from VT and he got on last and sat on the jump seat behind me. He was lovely.
He must have gotten on last minute. When he was doing Reservoir Dogs with Quentin Tarrantino he flew first class, QT, and everyone else was in coach. Keitel ended up paying for a lot of stuff, maybe even the crews flight, I don't recall so they eventually listed him as a producer of the movie. He correctly told QT that one day he'd be in first class.
Agreed. Koteas in his prime was one of the most charismatic men on screen and the idiots in Hollywood had no clue what to do with him. That's US film making for you. Had Koteas been a French actor, he'd now be one of the biggest stars in global cinema. Honestly, we got ripped off. Hollywood really doesn't get it and probably never will in its current state.

I just came to say that Ron was fantastic in "Enemy at the Gates" (20+ years ago). Yes, the entire cast was, but as always, Ron really stood out. Beautiful performance.
Honestly, if there EVER was a guy that deserved the hell of a kid girl/granddaughter, it's Perlman. I mean you look & listen to him in real life & you start concocting levels of grief for the guy! 😃
Ron Perlman delivers.... bread. Sometimes soft, and sometimes extra crispy in this movie. Perlman has a way of acting without acting, sometimes his silent look speaks volumes. For a Hollywood film, this one actually works even though it is the played out revenge story. - Pappy
@@marie-evetremblay2526 I think I stopped watching him after Under Siege. Everyone said that in real life the guy was an asshole, and it's hard to ignore that fact, and watch the actor perform.
What a tremendous screen presense Ron Perlman is! He deserves more films where he is the lead actor. This was a nicely made and entertaining vengeance thriller!
Dude, I was all ready to add a snarky comment about this being some low budget affair, but man... it really does look absolutely awesome. Perlman looks bada$$ in this and I've always been a fan of Elias Koteas, so this is right up my alley.
Loved Elias ever since I was 9yo as Casey Jones in TMNT. Growing up also loved him in Zodiac and as a descendant of Armenian Genocide survivors he was amazing in the Atom Egoyan Armenian Genocide film Ararat as the 1/2 Turkish actor, alongside the great Christopher Plummer and Charles Aznavour.
I just watched this, OMG Perlman was awesome! in it. Rocked the fight scene in the bakers vehicle. Then, also see Koteas as the henchman. Great to see Casey Jones from TMNT of course, my generation ;). And Keitel as the villainous mobster dude. Great actors!. Great movie*.
What more can you say about Ron Pearlman? Well, there's always more! From Beauty and The Beast to Hellboy to all the other roles and the voice of Optimus Primal. Then there's the man -- Harvey Keitel -- Gangsta!! This movie looks great -- has that Man on Fire vibe!!
"Real men?" You know this is acting, right? It's like when someone says "John Wayne was a REAL man!" And then I add "who never served in the military."
Ron Perlman showed himself to be a total psycho on Twitter during the pandemic. I can’t possibly wish this dude any less success. Seriously he’s a bad person.
Good trailer. I am the most critical selector of films and don't watch many at all. I am going to try this one because of Harvey Keitel and Ron Perlman
This looks incredible. First thing I think of though when I see Ron is how unbelievably angry and unhinged he was about Donald Trump when he was President. The tweets and such were full of venom and ferocious hatred for the former President. And while that was Ron's choice and he had every right to do voice his non stop opinion, it still made me wince because by being so vocal, I knew he alienated millions of conservatives across the nation that were fans of his acting and work. Now that Trump isn't the President anymore and the world continues to turn, I hope Ron is in a happier place. This movie looks incredible. Congrats to Ron, the cast and crew for what looks like a job well done.
@@badgermacwillstone9696 right ??!! Makes the bloodiest movies mainstream has to offer then gets on his soapbox to whine about all the things he just exploited to make hundreds of thousands of dollars on
Doesn't this feel like 50 other movies somehow, take an older mild mannered everyman pushed into action but oh no, he's got a dark past and now he's going to single handedly take on a cartel because 'he's been pushed over the edge' add some kind of nephew, daughter or grandson as their 'weak spot' / comic relief to make them relatable and boom. Is there a name for this genre? Everyman revenge perhaps?
Except it's the estranged daughter this time. It was called The Retirement Plan with Nicolas Cage. That movie came out in 2023. The Baker came out in 2022.
