The march from A Bridge Too Far has always been a cracking piece of music. As has Aces High (Luftwaffe March) from The Battle of Britain.

OMG!!! What an absolutely Brilliant, Brilliant Video!!! Why have I never heard of this Event before?? Is it an Annual thing? or a new thing? if it's Annual, I have to come over for it next Year! The Irish Guards Band were Excellent & the DOM CSG Gudgeon did a fantastic Job the arrangements & tempo was Brilliant. There's something Special in the way the Irish Guards play St Patrick's Day, it's a great Tune & all the Military Bands play it well, but there's something a bit more Special when they play it, something that's felt more than seen. I have to say I was surprised DM Stuart Laing led them on Parade, not that I think DM Laing isn't a great DM because he is excellent, it's just that SDM Gareth Chambers MVO, usually leads the Bands at these sorts of Parades, especially the Irish Band, his own Regiment. I personally think you can tell a good DM from the way he does his Job, Precise & Accurate but with a relaxed Style, not all stiff & Robotic, especially on a Parade like this. As well as Great Music to listen to, there were lots of things going on & that made it even more enjoyable. The Barnum & Bailey Style Ringmaster in the Striped waistcoat hammed it up wonderfully. I'm sure I saw Jonsey from Dad's Army walk past, I definitely saw an elderly Couple doing the Jitterbug & Swing Style Dancing. The 2 Mimes were good, loved how they cleaned the Windows so we could see the Band properly. The choice of Music was Fantastic & the execution by the Band Brilliant. I wasn't Born when a lot of it came out, but my Father was in the RAF I can remember right up to his Death in 1973, Dad was often whistling or occasionally singing these old WW2 Marching Songs. The Tribute to the RAF had me in tears, when Dad & the other Kiwis of the RAF came home to NZ, they often had informal get togethers, among them one of my Dad's best friends, a Bomber Pilot from 617 Squadron, the indomitable Dam Busters. I can't hear that or the Battle of Britain Themes without being reduced to tears. This Has gone Straight to My Favourite Play List, under the heading of Memories. Thank you, thank you, Thank You MBE! not only for the Excellent Video you've produced as always, but also for opening the Door a crack on a Britain that not only survived the 2nd of two such terrible times, but did so in a way that United the Peoples of the UK & her Empire & this was the Sound Track of their Lives at the time. God Bless.

Too bad the Aces High march was cut -- one of my favourite marches. The concert is very good -- I'm partial to music of that era. Kudos for the great recording quality.

Thanks for recording and sharing. I loved seeing the people dancing to the music, that's a compliment in my book, means they're really enjoying the music.

I am crying at this. Incredible - Battle of Britain March for the Hawker Hurricaine and Spitfire fans, 633 Squadron for the DeHavilland Mosquito fans, and the Dambusters theme for the Avro Lancaster fans, played under the shadow of Supermarine Spitfires - you really know your listeners! - #IncidentalMomentsOfLoveliness #IMOL

Great concert. Aren't the bandmasters generally WO2 these days?

Since the redesign of the bandmaster course in 2015, the course is now only 2 years long (reduced from 3) and the bandmasters now leave at the rank of SSgt and work their way through the ranks of WO2 and WO1.
