The Band of the Welsh Guards led the 2024 Armed Forces Day parade through Woolwich on Saturday 29th June. The parade marched from the Town Hall towards barrack field, behind the famous Royal Artillery Barracks starting at 0930 in the morning.

The band was under the direction of their Bandmaster WO1 Shave and led by Drum Major Laing. After the parade they performed two pieces at the entertainment stage to begin the event. ‘Simply the Best’ features a clarinet solo from CSgt Lightfoot.
The parade was formed of veterans, local army cadets, Air Training Corps, University Officer Training Corps, University Air Training Squadron, Royal Navy University Training Unit and local army reservists.
