Fun fact; for a very brief moment in time, she was a member of the Runaways w/ Joan Jett & Lita Ford. It was during the latter days when they had trouble finding and keeping bass players.

My favorite from the group was always Michael! Bad ass guitar smokin hot woman!

@@richardds9 Actually, she was their first bassist and singer. Glad that the Goldstar demos have surfaced. Cherie Currie was cool and all, but Micki's vocals on those songs were vastly superior. The idiot A&R guy who rejected the Runaways based on Michael's singing shouldn't have been taken seriously.

The Heavy Metal band Vixen was all female and probably the best musicians of the bunch.

The go gos first album was a smash. Everything on it was really good.

Most of their songs were written by others though. This one's by Steinberg & Rowles who also wrote Like A Virgin.

I am old enough to have grown up with the girl bands of the 60s as well as the rock and roll from then moving forward to the 80s. I am around the same age as Susanna Hoffs. Frankly, the 80s was the last of decent music period! There are only a handful of songs from the 90s that are on my playlist and nothing from there forward. I expected some younger one to set the record straight for an old dinosaur like me when I said that because I suppose there is some sort of girl (if gender is even a thing we are supposed to talk about anymore) group out there somewhere, but I doubt they can hold a candle (in terms of talent or not being plastered with tattoos and weird piercings) to the Bangles or the girl groups from the 60s like the Supremes. I do not recall any girl groups from the 70s but some darn good rock groups. It was nice to see a comeback of the attractive girls with talent in the 80s with the Bangles and Go-Go's being the prominent examples. Glad I grew up in that era from 60s-80s. Today I live in the past and listen to a playlist which includes some of my parents music from the 50s [Buddy Holly and Roy Orbison] up to, like I said, a handful of 90s. What passes for talent (they couldn't call hogs as my late father would say), and indeed music, today is a joke. Let's have some meaningful songwriting, and hear a real voice singing with passion while playing an instrument at the same time. On a related note, you can likely imagine the attraction to music videos for a guy in his 20s when they first came out on MTV. I could only watch it in between going to university or working when I was out of the city and back home at a friend's parent's house with satellite. It was like nothing I had grown up with. It was AM on a transistor radio when I was a kid in the 60s until the first FM station around these parts in the late 70s. The videos were actually a display of talent themselves back then instead of the crap we see today passing for music videos. And like I said, MTV actually played music videos instead of idiotic programming like today. Imagine that! What a concept huh? [Back in the 70s when I was in high school, we had a cool English teacher who assigned a project of making an 8mm video storyline to a song. Talk about someone who was ahead of their time.] And for the record, both Susanna and Belinda are hot at over 60. I will let you guess what a guy my age, in his 20s, thought about them back then............. Cheers, CD

This song was inspired by the sixties rock n'roll era blended with psychedelia. That's why most people didn't understand it at that time. This is a very clever and visionary song, not all the people can understand it.

@@bryanjensen2614 You need a good sense of what works for different audiences. Sometimes a band's entire work doesn't travel well, sometimes only some songs travel well. Interestingly there was a renaissance for 60s style music in the UK during the mid 90s when The Beatles Anthology was released so perhaps it may have performed better in the UK then.
