There are no all female bands today except for The Bangles Excellent rock-pop . They sing lead and backup, they play instruments, they write their own songs, they are pretty and sexy, they have class. Hope to see them play live in 2018.

The guy playing the electric piano has the best seat in the house. Well, Susanna, right in front of him, actually has the best "seat" in the house, but he gets a wonderfully unobstructed view of it for the whole frigging concert. Some guys have all the luck!

NOW THAT'S WHAT LIVE ROCK SHOULD LOOK AND SOUND LIKE!! Wish I had been there, but being able to watch it over and over again on this site is as close as I can get, and a damn good red ribbon. Great band.
They never got credit for their talent... and voices... Miss Hoffs was and is a force... her songs 1990=1995 are incredible. I hope she acheived all her dreams... on my side of the bed is wonderful, Rob K
Typical of most great bands: none of them especially great or even all that good musicians, and nothing special at all on their own. But put them together, something special just happens. This kind of thing doesn't happen often, and as usual the managers and record execs had to ruin it, by pissing off other members because they thought that the only thing people wanted was to see Hoffs looking sultry and push the others to the back. Shame
w0bbl3r Yep, the management got over obsessed with turning Hoffs into a sexy babe superstar (which she certainly was) they neglected the other 3/4 of the band and they fell apart.

When any band has success the spotlight is always gonna be on the lead singer. When Queen was at their peak Freddie Mercury was The Man" and Brian May Roger Taylor and John Deacon were looked at as nothing more than just a supporting cast although the three of them are superb talented musicians in their own right, Same thing happened to The Bangles. The spotlight went on Susanna and I'm not saying that Vicki and Deb were Jealous but they were maybe felt like hey "What About Us" we're pretty damn good musicians ourselves. That kind of envy (which come to find out was stirred up by the media) I believe is what led to the 10 year hiatus of the group starting in late '89 But nowadays I don't think that kind of stuff really bothers them anymore.

The original studio drum track run through an amplifier. A LOT of bands have been doing that for a long time because the studio version needs to be "piped in" or the live version will sound so flat. For some groups (especially groups that don't have permanent keyboard players IN the band) if everything was TOTALLY live they'd either sound very shallow or they'd need 15 people playing on stage with them.
Walk Like An Egyptian not my favorite song, not written by them, though it’s fun and they do rock it. It may be their best known hit, just not their best song.
Just because she sings lead on most of their singles doesn't mean that Susanna is the lead singer. It's like with the Beatles. All four of them sang lead on many of their hits.
