Haha! I was 45 when I learnt there is no drummer in the original song, it's just a tambourine and Susanna Hoffs keeping the beat doing a palm muted strum on her guitar. A very atypical approach for a pop song!
Not really. They all look really old and this is probably their worst performance of this song. The camera hides all their wrinkles and the clothes and hair die does wonders.
I'm still absolutely in love with Susanna Hoffs even in the early sixties she is Drop Dead Gorgeous!!! And the band sounds fantastic. But I wonder what happened to the original bassist unfortunately I can't think of her name right now but I saw an interview with them yesterday I think it was from 2012 and she was still in the band
Annette Zilinskas was the original bassist in The Bangles she had left around 1983 or '84 right before they hit it big. Then Michael Steele came in who has since left. On stage with them here is Annette Zilinskas.
Debbie finally gets to sing in this song. Never liked how the girls had to audition to sing this song and Debbie only got to do background. They didn’t even let her drum on it
@@Rodentgod0 wait a minute Araki is an old guy to but looks late 20 and early 30's and so do they so we can assume if u get put in Jojo u get Araki's non-aging power
@@Aurian this and some carings in their health, look, I'm 20, but my father is 60 years old and my mom 35, but once someone told me I'm a brother of my mother, other I'm my father's grandson, why? Well I taking care of my health, no alcohol, no drugs, some excercise(at least in home) with breathing techniques(or simply applying Hamon), and not many foods. Japaneses taking care of their health, they don't eat so much, part of their diet are veggies with variety of fishes, and still they all ocupied working, exercising or going with their friends.
For all of you "hey, there's no drummer" commenters - drum machine - the way the original song was cut. Debbi had complained back when it came out that it was supposed to be her song BUT the powers to be divided it up between Micki Steele, Vicki Peterson, and Susanna Hoffs and put a drum machine so that Debbi didn't even get to play drums on it. I guess she has gotten over it. At least now she sings Micki's part since Annette Zilinskas isn't singing at all in this. Debbi plays drums on everything else. I'm not sure why she hasn't taken over the drums on the live versions now. I guess because they got used to all four up front, dancing, and singing.
