I rode this train as a kid in 1983. The pool was clean and functional and the teeter totters was so much fun for my two brothers and I to play on. This brought back so many happy memories. Thank you for the awesome ride!!🤗❤️
Michael Murphy - Next to the controls it gives recommended speeds on certain trackage. The one thing that amazes me is that it lists: Straight track - 60MPH!!!!!!!!
@@AustinTrainsOfficial I have a Copy of the MTC G-16 book in front of me right now and this is taken directly from the Manual: "When your G 16 miniature train was put into operation, our representative made certain recommendations as to the speed of operations for a safe, attractive ride. In general, the speeds were not to exceed 12 mph on straight track (60 mph on the speedometer) and 8 mph on curve track (40 mph on the speedometer). Too much emphasis cannot be placed on the importance of keeping your operation ring speeds within these recommendations."
After ten years of doing maintenance and running one of the G16 trains, I would NEVER ride behind this man who is running way too fast. I see other comments here about excessive speed also. It is always blown off as just worthless opinion until YOU wreck the thing and have people hurt. Always be careful, these were never built for speed. It is NOT a carnival ride.
As I stated earlier, this train has had a clean record for years. Just because the tracks are weeded up doesn’t mean they aren’t maintained. We’ve done weeks of track work here to ensure it can hold the speeds of the train. Most of this loop is on a steep hill so higher speeds are needed to prevent stalling. We had a new guy who went too slow and stalled it on the hill once.
The last time I was at the park the rails were rusty and it didn't seem as if the train had operated in a long time. It's nice to see it up and running.
I've seen this train. They really should work on proper fixing of that track . If i were still living in PA, i would sooo volunteer to work on improving that trackage out of safety concerns for the riders. EDIT: That ol' girl could use a new pilot (front end ) too, lol.
Train’s been run like this for years w/o any sort of wrecks. Like I said on here in a different comment, this video is old and the tracks have undergone serious upgrades since then.
@@AustinTrainsOfficial Oh ok, first off i will admit I didn't look at the date of the video, that one is on me lol And second, I will have to take your word on the upgrades. I guess I can't say anything further until I can see the current state of operations. I'd like to check it out someday tho. I'll take the comment down for you, I'm sure you are tired of seeing these on this video lol
Scary, that driver was going way too fast. I’m surprised the train didn’t come off the rails and flip. It’s not a roller coaster! Slow down before you kill somebody.
This operator is going way too fast... It pains me because he has no capacity or regard for the passengers. He doesn’t realize if the train left the rails at his break neck speeds people will be critically injured...
The train has been here since the 60s, I think by now the park officials would’ve told the drivers what the safe speed limits are to operate in. Given there also hasn’t been any injuries around this ride ever, I think they’re alright
@@AustinTrainsOfficial I like your video. I wasn’t disparaging your video... But you apparently aren’t familiar with the parks safety records otherwise you’d already know and understand they have had multiple derailments since your video. Take a look at the observation car with the modified rear seat and watch as she gets whipped about...the moron operating the train doesn’t even slow down going through the maintenance storage shed...
