You know, when she said, "I will pay for you to go get coffee somewhere else today" my brain instantly jumped to, "Alright it's a date" because I figured that's where it was headed. (And because apparently my brain is really smooth even when I'm definitely not.) But this is even better somehow. Good job. Thanks for the audio, Nymph.

Whenever I see a service person having a bad day, I *make a point* of being extra nice to them - they deserve a break from the incivility going around (there's actually research on incivility showing it has like doubled from pre-plague levels). Even when they're not having a bad day, I try to put in a good word and a smile for them. Come to think of it, I hope this is not coming from personal experience right now...

Working in the service industry can suck. You get to deal with everyone and I mean everyone. And you're supposed to be pleasant to everyone regardless of their attitude. This one is sounding like the mother of all bad days. Rock bottom and then some. But hey, I feel like the service industry can go both ways. She's earned the right to vent her strain after all she's had to deal with.
