The bas-relief of the descent from the cross 

In 1828, Mr. Hagermann demolished the chapel which existed within the Château de la Malmaison, and donated the bas-relief of the altar to the church of Rueil. This bas-relief was purchased by Napoleon in 1805 for the church altar. It is a major work by the Norman sculptor François Anguier, following a commission from Queen Anne of Austria, to be installed at the main altar of the Val de Grâce. This work is in the French Baroque style. It was deposed during the revolution, and was purchased in 1805 for 15,000 F by Napoleon
