Love mine. Bought it in July 2019. Had a glich with the rear wheel, but due to Covid, the replacement set of wheels went missing and never arrived, so I bought some Mavic Ksyrium and £200 pound off, but a much better ride, believe me! Got a girly saddle, Specialized Mimic which a lot of guys are now buying, cos Specialized are using the technology from the Mimic on a lot of their new saddles. Used to ride the Specialized Power, but the Mimic is much more comfortable. Also, unless someone told you, you wouldn't know the difference between the Tiagra gearing or Shimano 105. I had both and the new Tiagra are virtually the same. Comfortable ride and well worth the money. Had a Merckx Emx 1 before this, but if Endurance rides are your thing, then the Roubaix is the one to buy. Good review and thanks a lot. .
Hey James, I wanted to thank you for providing a great and informative review of this bike. I just gave it a test drive this evening and so I am glad to hear that you feel that this bike hits the targets for an entry level CF bike for endurance. I am definitely considering purchase of this bike
@@Jamesthebikeguy Thanks again as I watched your review of the Roubaix Sport which is what I purchased today. I did so due to the better gear set and wheels. I rode it this evening and it sure felt nice Br,
I added upgrades to mine and its a beast. I have to say its scary fast. I added deeper dish carbon wheels, a carbon stem and an aero bar for the cockpit. I also added a Fizik seat. This bike is seriously fast and at a glance you would think you were looking at the new SL-7. I recommend buying this bike and making minor upgrades to dial in the bikes' already very deliverable performance attributes!!
Enjoyed your video. I think the Future Shock technology could protect my newly rebuilt shoulder. Originally I was looking at the Diverge but the Roubaix appears to be a better choice for my intended use (road only). Thanks!
Bought one a few weeks ago. Thanks for the review! One thing I can confirm is that tires are not great, I would put something better right away. Very comfortable bike, the saddle is amazing.
Incredible looking machine with some trick hardware. I didn’t know hydraulic shifting was a thing. With different tires would this make a good gravel bike?
Nice video! I love this bike, I've just bought one, same color. I thought that carbon fact 10r is one of the best carbon type. Isn't it so? Is it middle range? The most expensive models have fact 10r too...
wouldn't having suspension on the steerer tube instead of on the fork not actually speed you up but just offer comfort? A real suspension would reduce suspension losses which speeds you up and keep the wheel on the ground over bumps to increase traction. does steerer suspension have that effect? I would rather see new carbon fibre forks that have around 10-20mm of compliance like old curved steel forks
Your talking about Splay vs. Axial suspension. Splay is the fork on an older road bike, that actually allows rearward movement of the wheel and absorbs momentum. Hince why modern bikes no longer have that curved fork. Axial travel allows the suspension to move up/down Without the reward movement maintaining momentum just as a rigid fork would
Jamesthebikeguy Thank You, I am going to shop this weekend and surely checking out Diverge in that case, I usually like to ride tarmac and single track coz I have MTB.. Last Question James, what’s the Max tire width I can use for diverge?
That upright riding position will quickly offset any aero advantage the frame offers. Good versatile chain ring/cassette range. Def would go tubeless so I can run lower pressure with out fear of flats.
Not sure your correct. If the same position uses a aero design or not, the aero bike will be faster. I.e. this offers an aero advantage over the previous Roubaix. The person buying this is not cross shopping a Venge.
Well, this bike is awsome but on the other hand too heavy. For example canyon Endurace cl sl 7.0 disk is much lighter an about as expensive as this Roubaix.
