In paper chromatography why we have to remove the stationary phase before the whole sample pass through the column?
@biomedicalandbiologicalsci4989
The column ? the mobile phase will migrate through the paper and then you need to stop the migration at a certain point to be able to calculate the retention factor ..

You say at 16:16 that mobile phase holds our sample inside, but as you explained later in both paper and column chromtography the stationary phase holds the sample at first. Why is this inconformity? Explain please

1. The sample is added on the stationary phase 2. The mobile phase is added 3. The mobile phases moves through the stationary phase 4. The components in the sample moves with the moving mobile phase based on their affinity towards stationary and mobile phases. THE STORY ❤: At first, the sample is added into the stationary phase. So, at that point, stationary phase is holding the sample. 😊 But as soon as the mobile phase is added, the mobile phase started to run fast and pull the components in the sample along the way through stationary phase👯‍♀️. So even if they all are standing on the stationary phase, the mobile phase is holding the hand of sample and running forward🥰 until the supply of mobile phase is terminated. But still the mobile phase didn't get his Juliet💔, all the components kept running with him till their affinity lasted. But sadly there were nobody with him when he ended the race and looked back.😢
