just leaving a tip out here, only do a lot of shading on your skin if the outfit it has is simple, if it's a complex outfit you might not want to add as much because it'll end up looking messy
Rank beginner here, a couple of things I found just by playing with the tool.1: the hue shift tool is TREMENOUSLY helpful if you need to color-shift an existing skin. Let's say that you found a skin you absolutely love, but the hair is red and you want it a dark brown. You can import the skin (it's always good form to ask the creator if you can use/edit their skin first) and then shift the hue, lightness, and saturation on one of the hair pixels until it's the shade you want. Then, you can use the tool to go over the rest of the hair, shifting it to match so that you don't have to reshade everything again! 2: The poses tool is AMAZING for helping you make sure you didn't miss any parts! So many times you make an amazing outfit, only to walk around in world and have it look like your butt is showing every time you walk. Oops, you forgot to color the part where the body meets the legs, or the inside of the leg area, or the torso! Use the pose tool to lift your arm and leg up and check that you didn't miss any of those commonly overlooked areas.
Thank you so much I want to get into skin making because I would love to make my own custome skins, I subscribed because you seem like such a wonderful and energetic person! Much love ❤
Fun fact: while screwing around with noise, I got the stupid idea to make every pixel on my skin a slightly different color so none of them were exactly right. It took me a few hours, but I did it with trial and error.
@@Player1ive GIMP has a feature that lets you select all pixels with the exact same color values, so that's how I was able to make sure they were all different. Like I said, it took a while (think I spent a day on it?)
here's a lil tip, instead of doing directly dark for the shading try to make it more blue, it kinda gives out a bit more colour and makes more sense lol also offtopic use "they" instead of "he/her" its respectful to non-binaries and you dont have to write something atrociously wrong, at the start it may be weird since they is mostly used for like multiple ppl but its still a good tip!!
Hey Zombeanie, when you were putting your watch and bracelet on it gave me the idea to put a scar (that I have had my entire life) on my skin. Thanks for that.
Your guide and the app helped me a lot! I've spent like one and a half hours making my own skin once and for all! And I'm happy with the results! Thank you!
Me, someone who already knows how to make skins: ...imma watch it Me, after watching: Finally! I know how to make skins now! Me, remembering that I make custom skins already: ...wait
@@HueHanaejistla it's a basics of minecraft skin making video we all cringe here, n I was simply a dazed dumbass for forgot, and recording my lapse of brain within the comments lmao
This really helped me through the fact that I wanted to be able to be original and create my own Minecraft skin rather than searching for one. So thank you so much for creating this tutorial it helped so much! ❤️🥳
sorry ik you probably don't need this anymore but you could use the brightness shift one so you make lines of the color and whenever you stop making the line it shifts to a darker color
Ty soooooooooo much, Ive been trying to find how to add things to the outline of my skin bc I always found it cool but never knew how to do it, didnt know its that easy, just an overlay option and youre done. Thx anyways :) left a like and a sub!
I watched your video 1 hour ago and I already created 3 skins. Both the 1st and the 2nd dont look this pretty. . . But the 3rd one. To use this overlay (armour) is such genius. So what i wanted to say, is thank you! Skin creating is so easy. . .

All the skins I use in MC are ones that I create myself. I’ve never used preset skins or other ones. These are some nice tips, thanks! Also, great video!

I just wanted to say thank you for such an easy to follow tutorial I'm a Minecraft noob and watching your video helped me to finally create my own skin thank you so much
This is a great video through and through. Well done! Except that the brush strokes functions 7:27 aren't shown or described more than how helpful they are. We can just check them out for ourselves =) There's a lot of information and it's described simplistic and easy to understand. I very much like that you actually show what you're talking about - It brings another dimension to the learning curve.
