Love Tim’s new moniker “Tim Freaking Foust” . Yes he’s been called that before but you just made it official 😆🥰. They’re awesome together! Their arrangement of this still respectful of BJ Thomas’ . My favourite song since 1974, when Björn Skifs and his band Blåblus/ Blue Sweden hit Billboard. Same year as ABBA started their career winning Eurovision in Brighton with Waterloo. Sweden rocked then. End of history, back to now. Not to say I can't love this renditions as well!! Adore all the silliness going on and all our guys just shining from within, happy over this collaborations. Seing their happy faces, it's almost the audience who need the sun glasses😎😎

How great was that! Love having Tim sing with the Bass Gang. Tim is the growl master but he can also sing high. I have always liked this song done first by the late B.J. Thomas in 1968. It was later done by Jonathan King in 1971 & Blue Swede in 1974 who both added the "ooga chaka" part.

Loved your reactions to this. I had already watched the video which was my first time watching anything of "The Bass Gang." I am a Home Fry and have watched many of Tim's solo projects as well as his collaborations with Peter Hollens. I love this song and remember it also from Guardians of the Galaxy. I am subscribed to your channel but follow mostly your Home Free reactions. Always love seeing your reactions, they are informative and entertaining. And your hair is cute. Your surprise when you first saw that Tim was singing with them was great.

Loved your reaction to the 1st 7 seconds. I loved the cover by Blue Swede so much that I made the intro into a ring tone for my personal use. After listening to that ring tone for years, I became aware & stunned by the precision of their attack after they were done with the nonsense syllables. Also, there was an intermediate version, not by Blue Swede, that introduced nonsense syllable meme. Great reaction, Jen, as always.

Over the past few days, I have seen a few other reactions to this video (including Peter's - which was great!), and I was SO looking forward to yours. When I saw your "coming soon" I actually set an alarm on my phone so I could tune in. I have NEVER done that before - I always wait until I see it in my feed a day or two later. Hi Gin! Once again you have entertained me so much, not to mention the Bass Gang and Tim Runs! I looked at this and wondered "Should I watch a video so long at this time of night/morning?", but you never disappoint. I don't know if anyone else has commented on this, but this song was featured in the "Dancing Baby" video in the 80's, and in the TV show "Ally McBeal"! I'm so glad you found and shared this. It's always fun to see Tim's body language change according to what part of his range he's in. He pretty much always directs himself with his hands when he's doing his solid bass line, but as he works his way up, his hand motions change and the way he tilts his head and his whole body gets into it. I don't know the names of the people in The Bass Gang (except for Peter Barber), but the guy pouring himself a glass of wine has some freakin' low notes there!

Those of us who are older will also know this as "Dancing Baby" song. The "Dancing Baby" video from 1996 is considered by many to be one of the first viral videos. So much so, it showed up in the plot of the TV show Ally McNeal.
