1:21 - "I'm giving you a chance. *No one ever gave me a chance!"* A line that explains why there are so many villains in Gotham. Most of them went through tragic lives and became bigger monsters.
@ryanstauffer119
@ryanstauffer119 Год назад
Him saying that makes me think of how Riddler was treated in the movie "Batman Forever" and on the show "Gotham. In "Batman Forever", Bruce told Edward how his invention was too dangerous, and he was right. But Edward felt heartbroken since Bruce was his idol. Edward said to himself after Bruce left "You were supposed to understand". The man that Edward worked for even fired him because of his invention. On "Gotham", Edward was given crap by Bullock because of his love for riddles. He even heard the woman he had a crush on say how he's weird. And all the cops laughed when they read his love poem about her. And when he was in Medical Examiner helping out a crime, he found something to help, but he was told to leave because he wasn't in there and his was threatened to be fired. And when Edward officially became the Riddler, he had Bullock tied up and said he poisoned a whole bunch of cops and he said everyone would live if Lucius Fox answered three riddles, even if he just got one right. It was revealed that no one was poisoned though and that everyone was still willing to live. Except for Bullock though since he was hanging on a ledge and his rope was being cut off by Riddler. But anyway, hearing Riddler say in this scene "I'm giving you a chance. No on ever gave me a chance" just makes me think of how no one ever did give any version of him in the multiverse a chance. Everyone just thinks he's weird. Everyone treated him harshly. Even his own father who just called him a moron and hit him. Just like what Tony Stark said in "Iron Man 3".... We make our own demons.

Thats what proves Riddler's villainy (and not simple anti heroism) before he detonates the van bombs and floods the city. Colson is set up to be a scared, hesitant Yes Man who isn't proud of the things he's let slide (because if he doesn't Falcone will kill him and his family) and would rather not be in the position he's in under the thumb of the Mob. But when Riddler kidnaps him, you're made to feel a bit sad and disgusted for him because Riddler's already shown to be a deranged sadist. Beating Colson's head, taping his mouth and strapping the bomb to his neck while he gleefully whispers "Hold still!" as Colson helplessly whimpers. Its actually really horrible the more you think about it. I think for all his flaws and the things he's took part in, I think in an odd way he redeemed himself by going from being scared to die by burning to death, to be willing to protect his family and go through that for them. I have more respect for Colson after that.

Excellent visual storytelling from 4:12-4:17. We don’t need to hear and / or see the Chief cursing bloody murder on how mad he is at Batman. Seeing the SWAT operative’s gun barrel staring us down, aka staring down Batman before he loses consciousness, tells the audience Batman is in deep you-know-what.

@@mad-eyemax1389 or make him someone who worked at Wayne Enterprises, and experimented on an inter dimensional molecule that can melt objects and power engines, but after a test, gets infected with them, and due to the board members at Wayne Enterprises making it seem they needed Bruce’s signature to fund Abner’s research to make a cure, they fire him, and his life goes downhill, and it leads to him going desperate. At first, he tries to be a nemesis of the Batman, who showed up a few months ago, but when the bat doesn’t take him seriously, and doesn’t even show up at one big heist he planned so much, he tries to cure himself by breaking into Wayne Enterprises to make a cure.
