Dima made a mistake there. He meant to say something stronger than 'damaged', but lacked the vocabulary. He often says 'damaged and destroyed' in his reports about tanks and buildings when he probably should say 'heavily damaged'. Due to its layout and size it is impossible to destroy a normal oil refinery with a few missiles.

The Ukrainians hit one tank in a refinery with a drone and call the whole refinery "destroyed" lol

Are you worried that Ukraine is not losing the war fast enough. Maybe it's because they found out that dying is not winning.

The idea was to divert Ukrainian resources to a new front using an small force. It worked very well, now Ukrainian lines are thinner than ever before.

@@MYwinters1945 i get that, i would not expect to capture charkiv with 40-50 thousand soldiers. However i still dont see any major progress even in the Donetsk direction despite the diversion of the ukranian forces. There are like 6-7 fronts there, and at best in half of the fronts the russian army just managed to complete the capture of 2-3 settlements or small villages. In others they ve done pretty much nothing. And this happens while the ukranians already face lack of personel , and delays in the ammunition delivery. I am a little dissapointed, i expected a bigger dynamic in the russian offensive.

The AFU is rushing troops there even though the front is yet to even open, as an offensive there would threaten Kiev itself. The RFAF are following The Art of War doctrine of 'never interrupt your opponent while they are making a mistake'. The reserve force will enter play at the most opportune time.

We are talking a number of 200-300 thousand troops minimum just in the north front if they want to make any progress. My worry is that the estimates are for 50-60 thousand troops for the north russian army. From my point of view its just not enough. Yes they do stretch the Ukranian army, but they also do stretch themselves, ending up without enough firepower to make meaningfull advancements in any front. I am not a general ofcourse, i do hope that Russian generals know better , but up to now they have made some disastrous decisions on the field judging by the result

Rather than risk experienced combat veterans in assaults that might fail, the Russians sent recruits to creep ahead with shovels but no rifle. They dug foxholes then came back. When enough foxholes were dug, the fighters would crawl ahead and slip into foxholes that were already dug for them. That is how this joke about Russians fighting with shovels got started. But that tactic was very effective, and the Russians won the battle of Bahkmut not the funny jokers. So what do you say to that, Jokers?
