The battle for White's Peak has been raging for more than five decades. Past New Mexico Wildlife president Ed Olona has worked tirelessly to ensure public access to "The Yellowstone of Northeast New Mexico," where surrounding communities have hunted, hiked, camped and gathered firewood for centuries.
This week, the trial that could define the future of White's Peak takes place in Taos, potentially ending the decades-old battle and setting a public access precedent for the rest of New Mexico.
