I have searched all of RU-vid many times to try and find the best rendition of The Battle Hymn of the Republic. This is BY FAR the greatest I have ever heard. That song is very special to me, however I cannot put into words the experience of hearing it from Isabel. Amazing, amazing, amazing. Mississippi, USA

Most splendid Battle hymn of the republic makes me proud to be a Christian and a man of God. What a fine young lady.

I clicked for the redhead, and stayed for the music... all jokes aside she has a great voice.

In the US, we have a national anthem, called the star spangled banner. The battle hymn of the republic is our national hymn. We fought a Civil War over the question of slavery, which was legal in our constitution for 80 years. Our Civil War cost 750,000 dead Americans from both sides. This was more than all of the other wars combined. …toward a more perfect union… (We’re not there yet, but we’re headed in the right direction.)

I think most people, perhaps especially agnostics like me, are very touched (and improved) by this song. So it was strange to see the man sitting next to Isabel being so indifferent. Maybe that happens if a person is always going to church listening to beautiful music with lofty sentiments, he gets jaded. Of course, he might not know English, but the meaning of most of the words is guessable from Dutch. By the way, I read that it made Lincoln cry when he heard it. I can say now that I have something in common with our country's greatest president!

A nice version and it does have the correct lyric in the last verse ("die to make men free"). It sounds like she doesn't speak English and learned it phonetically, quite a feat.

This young lady speaks better English than most Americans.
