The Battle of Freedom Fields 

The Plymouth Athaeum presents a special, bite-size recreation of the original historic lecture by Isaac Foot, which was given to mark the 300th anniversary of the Battle of Freedom Fields on 3rd December 1943.
The original lecture, which took place at Sherwell Church Hall due to the destruction of the original Athenaeum building during the blitz of 1941, was given by the Rt Hon Isaac Foot, the politician and solicitor.
Isaac Foot was a member of the Plymouth Institution, now known as the Athenaeum and was the father of Michael Foot, the Labour Party leader during the early 1980s.
